What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

The last film I saw was The Lady in the Water. Contrary to all the negative hype, I thought this was a fine little film.
This fairytale story was similar in theme and style to Guillermo Del Toro's films like Cronos, The Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labrinyth. All films worth seeing.

Last night mother and I watched the first DVD disc of the HBO classic, Angels in America.

I think she got the story line, I kept adding editorial comments. She likes Meryl Streep, was intrigued when I told her to keep a lookout as she plays four parts in the movie. Of course, she recognized her as Hannah, the Mormon mother, and even Ethel Rosenberg, but was stunned to find out she portrayed the old Rabbi.

She like the first three hours, was intrigued by the angel, and the fantasy sequences, but I think was quite put off by Pacino's Roy Cohn character's cursing. Mother does not like to hear anyone using the "F" word, which Cohn does a lot, as well as a couple of the gay men in the show.

Next week, we will watch the second part. A long movie, but intriguing.

I'm watching "Miller's Crossing" now -- haven't seen it since it was in the movies. Excellent costuming, and a great amalgam of Hammett's "Red Harvest" and "Glass Key"!

23. Before that, Zodiac. Before that, re-watched Dinner at Eight, the original, which I'd seen as a youngster at the George Eastman House theatre. I liked all of them. On the pile are Lady in the Water, Pan's Labyrinth and Ash Wednesday.

I've seen Miller's Crossing at least a half dozen times. The 1st time I didn't really like it but each time it comes on a movie channel, I watch it. I guess it grew on me.

Watched the second part ("Perestroika") of Angels in America. Mother watched it with me.

Boy, that was one long movie -- both nights. This was my second watching, I missed a whole lot the first time.

Hello,

I saw the new foriegn film "Klimt" which was about the the artist Gustav Klimt last week and it was all over the place

... but the costuming was great.

The best movie seen so far was hands down "Lie Vie en Rose" the movie of singer ?âdith Piaf. Great acting, costumes (1900-50's) and one of the best movies Ive seen in a very long time.

Early this morning was Sam Peckinpah's 'Straw Dogs' (1971) with Dustin Hoffman. Since I'd never seen it or read about it I was thinking it was going to be a western....[huh] . It gets pretty violent at the end (in slow motion).

I first saw Straw Dogs when I was assigned to HQUNC J-3 Youngsan Compound, Seoul, ROK in the early 70's. All I remember are Susan George and the bear trap.

Mostly the former.

I believe it was that same year that I 1st saw Zulu at the Joint Services NCO Club with a bunch of Brits and Aussies. Still one of my all-time favorite movies. I never could drink like an Aussie. But I did develop a taste for vegamite on toast.

a couple flicks

I watched the Godfather for the first time in my nearly 28 years just the other week. Wow. Where have I been. That movie was great (with the exception of Sonny's fight with his brother in law).

I also just watched 'The Americanization of Emily' and was pleasantly suprised.

I watched a portion of an old black and white on TCM the other day that was about electrical pole linemen and involve, of course, a love triange. I did not catch the title of the movie, and was wondering if anyone knew what it was called?

That sounds like 711 Ocean Drive with Edmond O'Brien. A good flick.
