i keep mine in my suit bag ...black , blue and white braces and white , grey and brown spats so all occasions are catered for regardless of the suit in the bag

I hang my braces with my belts. Some of my older ones now have a little "stretched out" spot where they hang on the hook in the center back, so that's probably not the best way. I have two dressers, so in the top drawer of one I keep my socks and the top drawer of the other I keep accessories. My spats lie flat next to my pocket squares.

Most of my braces are stored in a drawer but some hang from trousers in my closet;I'm often too lazy/tired to take them off after a long day. [huh] And, I'm afraid that I'm spatless.

No spats.

Braces hang from my tie rack. My Goodwill has braces for $3 so I'm not too worried about wearing these out.

No idea where I'd keep spats if I had them. Someplace where they'd dry between wearings, I suppose.

As for braces, I hang them as well, but by passing one tab on the piece that attaches to the back of the waistband through the buttonhole of its companion. Then I hang the resulting loop over a peg.

I'm embarrassed to admit, they live in a plastic bag, hanging from my closet doorknob. When I move I'll have something more suitable!
Spats! What a concept! I'm not sure if I'm ready to withstand the "feedback" I expect I'd experience if I started wearing spats. But I admit I'd love to give it a try.

Well, I'll focus on the spats specifically.

It depends on the material. If I have soft fabric spats, say linen or some of the more designer style fabrics (like the brocades I see at spatterdash.com), I have no problem folding them along the instep and slipping them in a drawer.
If they're more substantial like felt, canvas or ultrasuede, I actually button them onto a pair of shoes to preserve the shape, at least the first few buttons at the bottom. I find the thicker material will start pulling up from the shoe along the instep if I keep them folded for a time.

The braces I hang over the bar of a suit hanger in my wardrobe. Spats are currently on top of the downstairs (coat) wardrobe (I think!)

Braces have their own tie Rack type system in the wardrobe. Although all my trousers have Braces with them as standard there are instances when they do not quite match the attire for the day so we have a "Brace Pool"!! Spatterdashes are kept in an Accessories drawer next to my wardrobe which consists of Sock Suspenders, Armbands, Pocket Squares, Tie pins, etc etc...
