Damn!! I miss having anything to fire.
This being Canada, the gov't wants you to get rid of any. But I will work around that. I am going to get my license and do some target shooting again, like I used to when I was a kid. This is what I want. Many of my ancestors carried this one.

Grandfather's revolvers
The first picture is my grandfather and one of his revolvers. He was postmaster and constable in a tiny town in NE Georgia. I believe the picture was taken in the early 40's. He wasn't a hard man...I suspect the constable's title and stipend was routinely awarded to the postmaster.
This second picture adds an H&R .22 to the .38 S&W. They make a nice pair. They look like they came out of the same factory.
During WWII, my mother took a train to Philadelphia to see her boyfriend, my father. Her brother insisted she test fire the .38 out back of the house and then carry it in her handbag in case she was accosted by any "damnedyankees" during the trip. North-South relations survived her trip across the Mason-Dixon line.
Both revolvers ended up in the possession of my maiden aunt, who lived in the same little town her whole life. She kept one as her "car gun" and the other as her "house gun" (kept under her mattress.)

MLK- That Llama .45. I've never had ahold of one of those and been curious. How do you like it? Have you shot it much? Accurate? Trustworthy?
P.S. And a perfect illustration of a thread that has gone 7,600+ reads over 6 months with no waves almost gets closed due to someone who can't resist commenting on a topic he admittedly has no interest in!

Hi Twitch,
For a less expensive .45 it is a fine gun. I have never had any problems with it and it fires smoothly and accurately. I bought it new about 17 years ago or so. They used to have (don't know if they still do) a .22 version of the gun. That would be nice to own since you could shoot a brick of .22s a whole lot cheaper than .45s. I have a friend who has the .380 of it and he is very happy with it.
Occasionally I go to gun shows here in town but I don't see any Llamas on the tables.

It's amazing how cheap a lot of this stuff was back in the early '90s.
Springfield Armory had BM-59's for something that my early 20's self thought affordable. I still kick myself over the ones I walked away from.
Like Story said, you can buy modern .303 in Wal-Mart or Sportsman's Warehouse. There's far too many surplus Enfields floating around to not make it profitable.
I particularly enjoy seeing the older hand-me-down guns and the stories they bring with them. From an era when ownership was common and even folks who didn't own a pistol didn't blink at knowing someone who did. It was like owning a washboard or an axe.
