I'm watching the pregame show for the Patriots Giants game and I saw the Deon Sanders is wearing a gray fedora. Looks to be about 2 1/8 brim gray with matching ribbon. Anybody know what hat this might be?
Bob.

I was watching the same and I'm not sure. I do know a couple of years ago Dobbs came out with a Deion line that was 'Urban' to say the least. Pink homburgs, etc. He's toned it down a bit.

I agree, in the past I've thought that his suits were awful, now he looks pretty good.

After the Jaguars, Steelers game, Jax QB David Garrard was interviewed about the game while wearing a Fedora. I don't know what it looked like but the family said it looked good.:)

HatCo produces a Steve Harvey line that is branded Dobbs. This may be what you are referring to.

For them to introduce a Deion Sanders line would certainly not be too great a stretch.

Hey, Carter! How-u-doin'? Actually, the Deion line was from a few years back, when he was still playin' the game. I remeber Baron carrying the line - neon-blue bowlers, the aformentioned pink homburgs, etc. Thank God he's gotten a bit more conservative.

On that note, how is it that CBS and NBC both carried the same game -- and even the same commercials -- tonight? What was the point of the dual broadcast?

Very weird.

Very weird.

The game was originally to be shown only on the NFL network, congress steps in and applies pressure to them, saying that channel is only available to 40% of the households in the country etc,.

I saw him with the hat on but I wasn't able to make out the brand. My guess is that it is some brand of modern hat as the crown wasn't all that tall, imo.:)

- I thought that Deion looked great with that hat. Anytime someone gives a nice looking hat a forum in front of millions of people like that it is a good thing IMO.

- I believe that originally NFL Network had contracted for x number of games prior to the start of the season. At this point of the season, last nights game had special meaning. The NFL Network is only available on certain cable systems and Directv. They have been negotiating with Time Warner, Charter and Cablevision to be added, but as with most things, it is about money. Those systems haven't agreed to pick up the NFL Network. The NFL Network aired commercials urging consumers to pressure their cable systems to ad the feed. SO from their point of view, it was a nice marketing coup and a chance to get tremendous exposure with the appearance of them 'taking the high road' and distributing the feed for the good of all. (Just my $.02)

I saw Deon at halftime - thought the hat looked pretty darn good! Maybe others will start thinking about that more moderate fashion statement...?

I was delighted that two broadcast nets picked up the game. The NFL network is a gigantic waste of time - it mostly carries reruns of old NFL games, with some commentary and such things as pre-season coverage and team profiles. But since the NFL owns it, they reserved about four late season NFL games to be shown only on their own channel - and this was one of them.

If you Google "NFL network cable systems" or similar terms, you'll find news stories about how the NFL is trying to strongarm cable systems into carrying its worthless network. I sincerely hope it won't work. I have DirecTV with the NFL Sunday Ticket (and that's the only reason I still have DirecTV after 10+ years) so I get the NFL channel, but I wouldn't want to pay for it year 'round when the only thinkg I ever watch on it is the live games. I suspect the only folks who are interested in the NFL channel are those obsessed with the NFL.

I was gonna post this a few weeks ago. He was wearing a Black Fedora back then, I don't remember which game it was though, it might've been the Steelers vs Jax game. I know it was cold and I was gonna comment on his hat, but wanted to wait and see if he wore another one....sure enough, he did. Thanks for starting this thread for me. :D I thought he looked great, and I'm not even a Deion Sanders fan, by all means.

I have Directv and the NFL Network is part of my basic package. I do not have Sunday ticket or the Premium Sports package.

Unfortunately televised sports is recognizing the revenue stream from controlling the broadcast outlets. I used to be able to watch a ton of baseball, hockey and basketball games on 'free' TV that now I can only see on cable (the station owned by the team owners). I am afraid that the NFL is just following the cash like the other major sports.

Let's see more hats on the analysts!!!

When one is wearing this kind of suit then I guess a hat just as loud is necessary. I agree, however, he has toned it down a lot as he has matured and looks great lately. I think him wearing a hat on the broadcasts is a good thing.

Deon's hat

I thought he looked good for a change in that hat. It appeared to have an overwelt brim but I can't say what vintage. It's probably a new lid...

Did y'all see Clinton Portis of the Redskins last night? I could have done without his big "bug-eye" sunglasses, but he wore a nice looking fedora.
It had about a 1 to 1 1/4" ribbon, the brim was at least 2 1/2 if not wider, raw edge and a bit of an Indy swoop in the back.

Go to redskins.com and in the middle of the page, you'll see two players. Choose the video player on the right and select Clinton Portis. You'll see him in his post-game press conference with the fedora, black coat and red scarf.
