A Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

Both of them were fantastic last night, and Jon's appearance on TCR still has me grinning this morning, "Can't a man wear acid washed jeans?".

The Wire. I just started it in December, and now am two episodes into season 3. I particularly enjoy it because I went to school Baltimore and know lots of the locations and understand the local references.

I found a couple of seasons of SCTV on DVD and I'm watching old John Candy, Eugene Levy and cast skits. I remember watching these old shows when they used to air after SNL in the '70's. When John Candy and later the McKenzie brothers made movies I felt like I was in on a secret!

I love SCTV--one of the programs that kept me sane during high school. Catherine O'Hara and Andrea Martin are huge idols of mine. I love Edith Prickley.

A guilty pleasure I would like to indulge in:

"The Moment of Truth" on Fox network.

Where the participants are hooked up to the lie detector machine? I think this is more a study in humanity and sociology than anything, or reality television to its worse degree.

I can't decide which.

In my furthering of the Star Trek canon... Star Trek: The Animated Series -- "The Animated Adventures of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek" on DVD. Fun, fun, fun. The same actors and writers come back to make a surprisingly mature animated series for Saturday morning fare.

Me and my roomates are watching the last season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on DVD (Gotta love Joss!). Also Torchwood, which makes me mourn the lack of BBC in my cable package. I've also put Dr. Who on my 'to watch' list, mostly because I've heard only good things about it. When I'm at my parent's house (and can mooch off their cable) I watch Weeds and Dexter. I'm catching up with Carnivale and Hex on DVD as well...

I'm casting about for a new series to start and I'm thinking of The X Files. By the time I discovered it it was well along in the story arc and I didn't want to come into it in the middle. I may Netflix it though. Any fans?

I would recommend this show. This was one of my favorite tv series when it was on. I think though you need to give it a little time as it starts to flesh out the characters and the different story lines. There is a lot that goes on and of course it's loaded with government conspiracies and cover ups with some odd stuff thrown in for good measure. just my .02 cents

Good to know, I'll give it some time. I've read that this series was like Buffy in that the creators expected it would be axed and so the first year is essentially made up of episodes that would stand alone. Then in the 2-3 year they started getting more into characters, series mythology, etc.

If you haven't already watched "Millennium" I would also recommend that. There are fewer episodes (it was only on three seasons, the first two were the only ones worth watching). BUT the first two seasons were really good. Its on DVD and I enjoyed them, you might as well.

There was also at least one X-Files/Millennium crossover episode, IIRC...

Last night I watched a pretty 'feel-good' documentary called 'Pucker Up' about the sub-culture of whistling. It focused mainly on the annual International Whistling Championship.' The competitors' talents were amazing. Apparently whistling is becoming a lost art.

I just recently watched the first two seasons of this show. I did like it but found it's tone much darker than Xfiles. But overall a good show.
