Don't know why, there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather...

Oh boy, it's been so weird this weekend! It all started after I got on the road home from work. The sun was out; saw a very beautiful sunset with some very lovely clouds. It was spectacular to say the least! But, there were clouds coming in that looked suspicious.

As I drove out to a dance that night, I ran into some light rain on the freeway. It was only for a few minuets that's all. Ran into the same little storm on the way home.

Sunday it rained on and off but, by 11pm Sunday night, it was like some one opening the floodgates of heaven! Total down poor within a matter of seconds! Lightning and thunder was also a strong player in the mix! It lasted all night long and kept me up all night! In fact, the lightning was so strong and close that it cased a car's alarm to go off three times in a row at 4am.

There was also a flashflood advisory for west LA and the burn areas! So, this storm is just got crazy and should last till tomorrow.

I like it. Got my jazz playing. I'm a fan of stormy weather. Perhaps it's because we don't have much of it here in California.

It's nice when it's convenient. My car has leaks and well, Jenny isn't a fan of rain. The thunder is fun, but not all night long! A man's sleep is important and it was disturbed. I also had plans I made today that had to get canned because of this freak storm. So, bah humbug! :p

Ugh! Here in the northeast, it rained EVERY day last week...I mean it POURED! I heard that if it were snow, it would have been FIFTY INCHES!!
I too love the rain, but my basement got flooded and almost all my stuff is down there!! I was rescuing priceless vintage all weekend!

rain to snow

where we are located in the northeast the fifteen inches of rain would be the equivalent of one hundred fifty inches of snow.

Well, after enjoying 22 years of paradise weather-wise, I am now going to get my comeupance....

Last week I moved back to Iowa to be with my 86-year-old mother. I am seeing fall colors for the first time in years, absolutely beautiful. Soon will come the snows, blizzards, thunderstorms in which I have to hide in the basement because of tornado alerts. Etc., etc.

Today it was raining in San Diego and was sunny in the 70's here in Iowa. I brought SD weather with me, at least for a little while. Oh, but soon.....

I like stormy weather, too, so will have to experience the seasons all over again.

Ah, you know, it may seem that California doesn?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t get much rain but?¢‚Ǩ¬¶ we sure have this last year and before!!! I have noticed a lot more rain here over the last two years. It seems that ever since I bought a vintage car it wants to rain more!

So, I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m not too happy with all this CRAZY weather. Storms can be fun and exciting but all at once is kind of scary. It started to hail as well today for about 5 minuets! It was coming down HARD! I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t understand this freak storm but, I can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t wait till the sun comes back!

Yes, indeed I have. The weather is definitely mild here in relations to other states but, it's crazy for CA.

Didn't intend this to be a bad weather contest. :p Just sharing some of the latest news from the west ;)

I tell you that thunder was bad. We had a lightning strike less then a mile a way twice that night. One hit the pole and the power went off for a time. Kept us awake all night long. I saw a report yesterday that we are in a upswing of bad (wet and cold) weather; it's a 30 year cycle. The mid-west/east coast will get slammed with cold, snow/ice more so since the 60's. West coast will have more thunder storms and rain. Keep dry and warm all and Rob, protect that wonderfull car.

Cheers,
Jeff
