You should try some LUXoil on the ones that are stiff. It has revived many a pair of shoes of mine.

I love these, but are a 1/2 size too big...what do you ladies do for slighty-too-big shoes? (And Fleur, track and confirm told me these were delivered on Monday but no one in my family had seen them. I waited a few days and finally went to the post office Thursday, they weren't there. This morning, I went back, and there they were...huh)

The suede is so soft and supple and new-looking!

Boo, these are sooo stiff and a little clunky

Many people here at the Lounge have recommended a special product that Pecard makes for antique leather. It's available on Ebay (after the boycott, please) or from their website - http://www.pecard.com

You guys are so helpful, thank you all! (hugs all around) Is it ok to rub onto the suede? Would it discolor or ruin the texture?

Don't use the Pecard's on suede though - you need to use a special suede product. It's OK to rub suede, although it's recommended that you use a special suede brush.

I'd think so, if not there are companies that ship your item off to India / Thailand where they are expert at making copies of items. Not sure about the ethics of it but hey, who needs ethics when you can have the perfect trousers

Admittedly, carbon footprint-wise it wouldn't be too clever! But in terms of labour, something that bespoke wouldn't be child-labour - there are (I'm told) loads of amazing and speedy tailors in India and other parts of asia and it's far more likely to be one of those I would imagine.

So where might I find one of these companies Miss Smuterella? Any idea?

to be honest I don't know, I'd ask around your local tailors, I don't think any of the companies who do it are the type to advertise it on their websites...

otherwise, if its something special try George, he comes VERY highly recommended

As well as making all styles of men's and ladies' suits he copies things and used to make theatrical clothing (he did all the original costumes for one of the big west end productions)

I couldn't wait to show this dress off! Sorry they're not the best of photos. The dress needs taking in around the bust a little (lot).

I also went back into Gap today and bought these high waisted sailor pants and light blue shirt:

I looooove them. I've been looking for a nice pair of high waisted sailor pants for ages. They're way too long again (as you can probably see), so I'll have to take them up.

They have on Gap store in Dublin, in Arnotts Department Store. If you want a voucher let me know - it's valid for the whole of the EU as far as I know. Casual basics are only a small part of Gap these days, mostly they stock smart casual and work wear for women. And of course a huge selection of jeans.

Unfortunately since last year, the EU has a different set of designers for Gap than the US. So what's stocked here is unlikely to be stocked in the US. I have to say, since they changed the designers the stuff in the EU stores is sooo much more my thing.

I have no idea?! I don't think I do anything any different from anyone else... my hair is generally pretty shiny anyway, which has a lot to do with the shampoo I use I think (Kerastase Bain de Force). I also really like using homemade flax seed setting lotion, as I find with the right consistency (not too watery, not too gloopy) it gives me a nice sheen to my hair. With the rolls, after I've backcombed I just do a lot of smoothing over with a fine toothed comb on the outer layers before I pull them into place. But I'm not sure any of this info will be of any help!
