1930's and 1940's eye makeup help

I am trying to recreate 1930's and 40's makeup looks,and I need help.did women wear eyeliner?what colors did they wear for eyeshadow?
Any help would be greatly appreciated or shade reccomendations.

Eyeshadows came in all sorts of colours, as did the lippies, not just the standard reds.

The eyeshadows tended to be earthy colours for the soft smoky look, but there were brighter colours out there.

Loose face powder was a must have if they could get it, the fashion was to have a matt complexion.
