Hey AtomicGlee,

Nice Campdraft alright. There's noooo way I could be anything other than a mad collector of quantity regarding hats because it's my nature and I wear a different hat all the time (need to get in the swing of posting pix of that daily on this thread) but I have so much respect and awe for someone who "wears pretty much the same hat every day" as you do. Honestly. There's a part of me that really wishes I could do that - it's the coolest.

Why, thanks! It's not that I don't have my own small collection - I also have two Federations, not to mention a couple of Panamas (though I have fit problems with the soft straws) and a boater - but for whatever reason, the Campdraft finds its way to my head 99% of the time.

Good eye. That hadn't occured to me. It's darker, a true tan, but the Faulkner is 'Mojave', which is the same color family. The goal of the Faulkner was to emulate a Montecristi as much as possible so I wanted to go very light but in the tan family rather than gray. The flash washed out the Churchill. Maybe I can take a side by side with good light tomorrow (although I have NCAA basketball to watch).

Thanks, gents.

That Churchill was one of my first hat purchases (off ebay) and I was really excited about it. But when it arrived it was cowboy hat stiff in a cattleman's bash, brim up. Anyway, I couldn't really dry bash it and I was too unsure to do much else so I stuck it back in its box and left it in the closet. While I was doing some crease work on my Borsalino today I finally decided I wasn't going to kill the Churchill by spritzing it wet, so I wet down the front (distilled water), left the center crease, put in front dents and got the brim to snap. That's the result. It's a far cry from the soft felt on my Art-lite, but it looks good (I think). It's now officially in service. I don't think anyone ever wore it before me.
