I just wanted to post this link to the website of my good buddy Marc Hermann (no relation). He's only 26, but he's accomplished a lot in a young life. He's a news photographer for the NY Daily News. He eats, drinks, and breathes vintage, and of course every day he wears vintage. We were in The Caine Mutiny Court Martial together. He was responsible for the costumes being precisely perfect for the era. He has a collection which includes no less than 13 of those classic old Graphlex cameras that you see in old movies. His last theatrical triumph (Oh, yes! He's a real ham!) was as the goofy comic in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 (his fourth consecutive Heights Players production set in the 1940's). He was practically channeling Bob Hope. I've been trying to get him to join the Lounge, but he's just too busy being the second coming of Weegee! Anyhow, here is his portfolio. Some great stuff:

Wow! His work is amazing!! I really enjoyed looking through his website. Actually, I just spent a good 30 minutes just perusing, his images are so well done, eye catching, and what a wide range he has in topic. My favorite section was "People". He certainly knows how to capture emotion, all different kinds.
Oh, I also really liked his motto, or mission, whatever it's called! But it says "I don't care so much anymore about 'good photography,' I am gathering evidence for history." - Gilles Peress

Thank you Dan for sharing this with us. This will be a bookmark on my computer. I love to take photographs and am always looking at others sites for technique and inspiration. I am very impressed with your "son", and to do these things at such a young age! I can only imagine what he will be like 10 years from now!!
Thank you for bringing such a great site to our attention:)

I really enjoyed looking at Marc's site--his vintage styled pictures are great, I'd love to see more of them.

I'd love to hear you two singing Spike Jones! :D
