As always Root, you show excellent taste

Alexis Smith was great. Even in "A Horn Blows at Midnight" which wasn't as bad as Benny would have you believe. I saw her on stage in San Francisco in "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and she still had "it".

A couple of other ladies that never lost "it" are Lauren Bacall and Katherine Hepburn. I flipped through a show some years and Virginia Mayo made a cameo. The only way I recognized her was a character saying "It's Virginia Mayo!" She not only looked different but none of the old charm was there either. She no longer had "it".

My heart goes pitter pat

There is a shot of Maureen O'Hara in The Hunchback of Notre Dame with Charles Laughton that made my heart skip a beat. The camera looks up at her and the light makes a halo through her hair. (sigh)

I think we can agree that they both represent the crest braid very well.

I fell totally for her the first glimpse I had of Breakfast at Tiffany's - I was flipping channels and saw her in the scene of her on the windowsill, in jeans no less, with a scarf on her head, with guitar singing Moon River.

Ginger, I think her real hair color was red. This is what I could find that I felt was accurate. This is a tobacco card from the mid 30's. I think she started to change hair color in the late 30's and early 40's.

Ginger was a brunette, her hair was dyed for a film in '31. Ginger comes from her name (Virginia) not her hair colour.
