Spit, is this some of your work? Very impressive and please tell us more. I understand it's a fantasy sequence and I loved the aircraft but how come the kit and actors are US? Is that all due to the market?

I think this was used a few years ago as part of IWC's campaign for their Spitfire models and specifically for the North American market. Hence the accents.

There's a certain amount of truth in the "no real pilots anymore" thing ;)

That made me smile, especially given the tone in which the line was delivered. Malkovich has such a way with the cutting remark.

Wish it was Andrew.
But I can not take the credit for this little masterpiece.
Like Smithy suggested, this is the international introduction of the second Spitfire model (The first edition had a black dial. I should know. I wear one.)

Besides that, I do not see anything wrong with the pilots talking with american accent. It is a story about (american) airlinepilots, dreaming of becomming REAL pilots. So the accent doesn't bother me at all.

I admit that I'm more of a Breitling boy, but I've been getting these strange IWC-like urges over the last few months. What do you think of yours?

I love it!!!!!
It's been on my wrist for the about two years+ now. And I love it even more now.
Went from leather strap to steelbracelet half a year ago.
Got it changed in Zurich. When I handed it over to the repairman, he called on some of the others in the shop. He just wanted to show them my first edition "Spitfire" with the black dial.

Obviously they only made that for a year - so it has become a speciality. Even in Zurich! 20 minutes from Schaffhausen.

Here is a IWC photo of my "Spitfire".

That is a very sharp watch; I think they did well with the Spitfires as I like the applied indexes and the hands as well. A really neat interpretation of a flieger. Another one that really catches my eye is the 3717...it would be on my short list of favorite IWCs.

I like the flying footage in that video a lot (and the female is great to look at, as well). I also have tremendous respect and admiration for John Malkovich, but in this "film" I have the strongest desire to punch him in his face. So for me, it is best watched with the sound off.:)
