How is the sizing on the Rago 821 waist cincher? According to the herroom.com sizing chart, my waist takes a size 2X, but my hip fits the XL. Which should I go with?

A lot of gals here have reported going a size down, so I would go with the smaller size.

I went with what fit my hips and let the darn thing pull my waist in. The 821 is a serious garment. My waist is rather pliable and I get serious a serious corseted look to my waist.

Kitty, Thanks for the images. Summertime is coming and I worry about wearing my stockings around my kids for very long. Not so much the kids themselves but the get down on the floor, picking up of toys, running outside to see the newest mud pie...Hmmm. The search continues.

Triumph Doreen Bras

I haven't read through the entire thread although I was keeping up with it pretty good but I know in the earlier posts some of the gals were saying they couldn't find a US vendor that carried Triumph Doreen Bras. I just bought an adorable non-padded Doreen cotton bra last evening for $29.40 at www.figleaves.com They seem to have a good stock in Triumph bras. I've never owned one nor have I ever tried one on but all the gals here rave about how comfortable they are and how they are very much close to the 40s look that I just had to try one for myself lol

I also really wanted to try out the Doreen the first time I saw it. I seem comfortable and good. And I guess it must be, since it one of the best selling in the world. But they don’t make it with a band size of 30. :( I’m starting to think it’s a curse to be petit, but with a big bust.

I hear ya, I'm actually a 32 but figured I just might be able to get away with a 34 since I've gotten rather good at altering my bras! Actually many bra shops do alterations so if you find one in your area check them out.

They don’t do alterations in Norway.  If you are anything outside standard sizes you just got to live with it, or buy from other countries. Not one of the bras I own are bought in Norway, they are almost all of them bought from UK. I heard a rumour there is a shop in London who actually measure you and sew bras to fit you perfectly, but I haven’t found anything more about it.

Have you ever ordered from www.bravissimo.com ? They have lots of bras, swimsuits, and clothes "for big-boobed women" (their description, not mine lol ) They have back sizes as small as 28 and cup sizes up to K. I really like their clothes as well, it's nice to find a fitted blouse that doesn't pull open between the buttons.

Girdles and More!

Hi I am new to FL. (I generally sit at home playing records or listening to the radio). I buy Girdlebound girdles but have also found summer weight girdles in Little Old Lady clothing catalogs. (Can't wear 30s without the proper shape, now can one.) I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to order Low back "long line" strapless bras. You know the bras that cover your torso to waist, but are cut really low in the back because the hooks and eyes attach close to your waist. Thanks.

Oh not so! It's a blessing I love my bigger bust and like you I'm a 30 band size.

Like MissyMiss says Bravissimo is good for unusual sizes as is the wonderful Figleaves site: http://www.figleaves.com/uk/home.asp

I just checked and they post worldwide too according to the Delivery info page. It's a great site as you can search by size, colour, manufacturer etc.

I also avoid paying the full price by searching the internet for the discount codes first as there are always tonnes about and you can usually save between 5 - 20% off!

They sell Rigby and Peller's ready-made lines there too. It is fiercely expensive stuff but it does sometimes go on sale. I have heard a rumour that this is due to be discontinued as they are planning on doing bespoke underwear only though.

I only own one Rigby and Peller set of undies and I would have to say that it is the most beautifully made and comfortable set I own, this one Giselle :http://www.figleaves.com/uk/nsf/qwiser.asp?term=giselle&original=giselle&match=exact that I got half price in a sale!

BTW Figleaves cater for sizes 28A - 56FF so you shouldn't have to have to have anything altered from there!;)

lol Actually most of my bras are bought from bravissimo! I have bought from them for almost ten years, and I love them. But for a girl dreaming of grassy green lingerie with daisies, there is still a little yarning left.

....though I imagine they would be very expensive.

Bespoken is expensive (just inquired about the prices for bespoken shoes at a shoemaker, he starts at 7000 Kr for a pair, witch is about 1 380 U.S. dollars at the present). But since I’m a convergence of unusual size, I am thinking about saving my money and invest in bespoken instead of buying readymade that never fit properly anyway and I end up never using.

I’m actually not unhappy with my body. But living in a country with few people, it is very difficult to find cloths to suit you, when you are different from average sizes. There is just not many a nought people who are outside of the average scale, for it to be commercially possible to sustain an alternative for them. But I seem to be getting:eek:fftopic:

Ok, so it's not vintage, but I finally got a new bra yesterday at Nordstroms, and my boobs were a lot bigger than I realized. But let me tell you I feel gorgeous with my boobs all supported. Now I'm just waiting for my girdle to come from girdlebound.com, can't wait!

Amen! When you try on a bra that really gives the support you need, it is such a different feeling.

I don't know who else uses Cacique. I had a coupon for 50% off of any bra or undergarment. I was looking at their body suits. I tried it on. It was too short in the torso.

Ugh. Junk. I couldn't find anything I could wear. Seriously. Not even a pair of undies.

*disappointed* :(
