Mary... Thanks so much! I only used the flash on the camera for this photo... the rest was done on photoshop. I messed with color saturation and hues a lot. Plus a brush tool to give that dark halo. I wish I could make a tutorial, but I make it up as I go along, so I don't remember most of what I did!

Let's put it this way, Lolita: when you get to bird-colonel rank or general's stars, or even candidate for either, things become as much a matter of who you know as what you know. (Believe me, candidates for promotion and their backers will use every last possibly-damaging thing including acne or hangnails to try to torpedo each other...) Unfortunately, to do the job I was bred for, I believe it will require at least four and preferably five stars on my shoulders, and since my "mission objective" is a matter of prionciple and I'm pathologically incapable of compromise on those...
