A small update

Barbigirl will probably undergo a second round of surgeries today, July 1. She is more alert, and remains in reasonably good spirits.
A correction: Initial media reports were apparently incorrect. The passenger in the drunk driver's car was not killed, but is also in serious condition.

We will make sure she sees your warm wishes from around the globe. I'm sure it will please her greatly. We'll try to post an address to which cards may be sent once her recuperative residence is established.
