Something new and never before seen from Art

I just received my lasted creation from Art. The man never ceases to amaze me. I swear he is clairvoyant. I sent him an order for a porkpie, to which he said "I realized with your hat I have an opportunity to get creative."

My German side started flaring up and had a hard time letting go of control, but having already experienced Art's work I trusted his eye more than my own. I simply responed "Here is my new order: I want a black telescope block with a dark, wide ribbon with some purple in the bow and a purple liner. I'm looking for something jazzy, hip and unique. Have fun!"

Art really outdid himself with the bow treatment. He really came up with something unique! He also did something cool with the brim. It's 2.25" in the front, but only 2" in the back.

Serendipitously, even the snap of the brim ended up unique. When I put it on, I reached up with my right hand to snap down the brim and it natually fell into the side-snap/swoop you see - with the right side snapped down and the left side left up. Art says this was not on purpose, but the hat just wanted to be this way. I think it plays into the jazzy, hip, unique look and I intend to leave it that way.

In case you were wondering, the "never before seen" part of this hat is the purple liner. I was after Art like crazy to get me a purple liner and I believe this the first one he's made.

I can't say enough how impressed I am with what Art created from my open-ended order. I already have my next order planned out: "brown hat - thanks."

Tres cool

Now what you need is a black, or maybe blue, shark skin suit, black silk shirt, matching purple (or maybe white?) tie, POINTY black shoes, and cool shades, and maybe an alto sax hanging from your neck.

Great looking hat - I like the liner especially. It seems to me that darker liner colours are also that much more practical - white liners are hell for showing up sweat stains. I wonder why they became the standard.... cheaper than colours / blacks?

What I admire in Art's hats I see posted here, is not only the hat itself, but especially how he makes it complement the wearer.
I'm sure there are more good hatters around, guys that can make a great hat by itself, but this for me is a sign of true genius and great craftsmanship :eusa_clap.

Man! That's a killer hat! But a hat like that deserves more than a grey t-shirt. Let's see a picture with some duds to match the lid.

It does deserve better, but I wanted to grab a quick mug shot for your guys.
