Anyone have any links to pictures of or information about Miami, circa 1930's? It's for a book I'm writing, and any help would be greatly appreciated!

This is probably too far off topic but, Doc Savage had an adventure called "Red Snow" that took place in Miami in 1935.

And Wolf, that's not off topic at all, since my book's about a Doc Savage kinda guy based out of Miami. (And wouldn't you know that out of all the Doc books I have, that's one that I don't have... :eusa_doh: )

I just picked this book up yesterday. There's also another great website, which has dozens of great photos from the 1930s.

Here is a site run by the State Archives of Florida. Just type "Miami" in the search box, and you will get over ten thousand photos, most arranged by date.

I get lost in this site for hours at a time.

Don't forget the PanAm Flying Boat terminal at Dinner Key! Some nice shots on this page and here.

Edited to mention that after the Flying Boats were furloughed in favour of runways, the marine air terminal at Dinner Key became the city hall.
