Forgive me for posting the same picture in two thread, but here is my new brown bowler. It is by Bailey of Hollywood, and while it is not the highest quality hat per se, it is comfortable and affordable. Not medium brown though, more of a chocolate.

The bowler was the great hat of the Old West, and it originated as a gameskeeper's hat, so its heritage would certainly support the casual.

Welcome (back) to the Lounge, Crane's. I'm very much enjoying my Filson bag. I suspect your store will get more of my money in the future.

Hey AC, glad you like your bag. This is the next place I'm going to advertise on so just like SF there will discount codes galore on all our stuff.

Let's try this again. Today it's Ariat boots, Lee Authentics 101s (1901 pattern), Filson double belt, Northface shirt, my trusty Filson Aviator after being snow sealed. I like how the color deepened and how it patterned, and last but not least my vintage Portis Frolicking Bunny Bowler in dark brown.

Where I live in Winnipeg, Canada (6 hours drive north of Minneapolis) all I see are people wearing ball caps and Tillys.

:eek:fftopic: Maybe you aren't looking on the right heads. :)

Then again, we might be the only two people of taste in the entire city!

I put...

...the bowler in with the straw boater as a hat that should have transitioned better to the modern era than it did. With it's small brim it works better with head rests, and it has in a way, sort of a modern look despite it's vintage.

Maybe it's so far out it's ready to come back big time.

Funny, I forget about that knife. There are some tools that I never go anywhere without, and that is one of them. I think that had I lived 100 years ago I would have carried a folding knife in the city and a sheathed belt knife elsewhere. Now that I think of it a nice sheath on my belt would go perfect with my brown suit and bowler. Perhaps a leather sheath with some fringe or Indian beadwork? Hmmm, now my wheels are turning.

Hello mr. gambler! That is a great outfit! I get enough crap from just wearing a fedora, I can't imagine the harrasment if I dressed like that. but you just ooze cool in that outfit.
