Federation Deluxe!

Just bought the old style Federation Deluxe from Hats Direct- Size 60, in Black. About $150, shipped.

Don't know for sure that the Fed will work for me, but I couldn't resist!

I just ordered a silverbelly Campdraft in a 62.

Can't wait but it's going to be 60 - 90 days as they only stock up to 61 and the 62 has to be done on a different block or something. I cannot understand why it should take so long. Here's hoping I'll have it for Christmas day!

What pushed me over the edge was Indycop's new avater picture because I knew since it suits him so well it would me too as I reckon we are the same build....

:)

Well, I will certainly do the cigar thing - I am a big cigar fan - and Cubans ain't illegal here!

Can you clarify - by "Boss of the plains" do you mean the green color? I heard mention of this but I have never seen a picture of a Campdraft in this color.... [huh]

How much are you guys paying for shipping?

Ordered two mid-brown Campdrafts and a moonstone Stylemaster from Everything Aus. and paid $26.07 for shipping.

One of the mid-browns is going to a friend in Arkansas who kindly bashed/creased my silverbelly Campdraft, but under the condition that no money (save for shipping) would be accepted for his efforts.

Well, I thought I'd one-up RBH by ordering a Campdraft for him and well, he just can't be one-upped!! Today, in addition to a PERFECTLY-bashed/creased (diamond) silverbelly, I also received a gift in the form of a vintage Champ fedora from him ... totally unbelievable!!

No it's a raw edge with a 3.5 inch brim I believe and will come open crown. I don't have a western so this will be my first. I could not pass it up for $57 so I ordered it with the campdraft.

Thanks.

I've had a hankering for a Western too. Been browsing every now and again for a NOS Stetson in a 7 3/4 that's maybe 20 or 30 years old....

Follow-up

Earlier in this thread, a couple of days ago, I wrote this:

I just wrote to Hats By The Hundred to ask what their policy is on this. I ordered my Bogart (a 12-week special order) over a month ago, but my credit card hasn't been charged yet. I understand that they charge it when the hat arrives from the factory and they process the shipment - but I don't know whether the conversion rate was locked in on the day I placed the order, or if they use the current rate on the ship date.

I am curious to hear what they have to say. (The best-case scenario would be, "We'll use whichever conversion rate is more favorable to you." - but I really don't expect to hear that!)

Well, I have now heard back from them - and let's put this dealer on the good guys list!

In response to my query, they did something they don't normally do: they charged my card yesterday to take advantage of the favorable conversion rate, even though the hat's delivery is still several weeks off! Now that's what I call acting in the customer's best interest...

Doctor Strange:

Everybody wins with that. You get a great conversion rate, and Everything Australian gets their money 3 months early (in Aussie Dollars).
