Its been awhile since I've posted here so I thought I would check in.

I've been mighty busy here lately, I went back to college and I'm back on campus this term. This meant moving yet again, got a nice little house built in the 40's with a shop out back so I can get a project car going again. Its a bit odd being in classes where most of the people there are at least 10 years younger than me. Its kind of interesting because I'm doing a bit of paleontology work in the lab in my spare time. I'm about 4 classes away from having my required credits for my archaeology major, quite a bit further on my biology major.

One thing that has completely struck me is how "sloppy" so many of these kids are. Half the class is dressed in sweats, and most of the rest wear jeans that hang around their knees. You all should have seen the looks when I wore my fedora to school one day, you would have thought I had a hole in my head.

Some of my professors have even made comments about it and the fact that half the time I look like I'm the only one that is awake during classes.

I'm thinking about adding a few things to my wardrobe give me a bit more of a classic style at school (and in general) separating myself from the regular riff raff and slobs in my classes. Any suggestions?

are you still going to EOU?

i know what you mean about this gen being ultra casual...one of my professors complains all the time...she even has to put a special section in her syllabus telling the students to not wear pajamas to class...plus she is holding a writers workshop for kids who want to learn to write better...she says she has gotten essays and research papers with slang and profanity because the students didn't know better and include everyday speech and 'texting terms' in their papers...it's quite ridiculous...

i think my fellow students think it is strange i wear a flight jacket to class...

Yep I'm at EOU still, I'll more that likely finish my undergrad stuff here then do grad work up in Washington or something. I basically spend all of my time in Badgley Hall (Chem, Math, Bio and Labs this term).

I think I've heard of that prof you are talking about she is one of the Anth teachers right? My chem prof mentioned that one day in class when everyone was dressed particularly sloppily.

I've had some of the profs comment on how well I can write papers, and I've been asked by other students to help them. The sad thing is when I was in high school that was one of my short comings, guess I've gotten better. Heck I even get an A on my paper titled "An Explanation for the Order and Structure of the Universe" in my philosophy class.

Yah, Prof. Dahl...she's cool...

i just got an A on a paper too...definitely improved since high school...

my wardrobe is simple...vans or converse, jeans, tshirt, and a jacket(either one of two flight jackets or a pinstripe track-type jacket if its drizzling)...it's somewhat vintage and different from what everyone else wears...
