Wolfmanjack: I agree with what you said! I've mostly given up on off-the-rack suits. This particular one is made-to-measure, and I think that that will be the majority of my dressier clothes for some time to come.
I certainly have been (and plan to continue) avoiding suit separates. Not only do they lack the styles, materials, and cuts that I desire, but they rarely come in my size. Let's just say that I WISH I could wear a 46R coat and 44W trousers!
JimInSoCalif: You're right about the pocket watches! I only have a modern one that was a gift (best man gift I received in October), but it really completes the look of a three-piece.
HarpPlayerGene and Max Flash: I certainly rely heavily upon both my MTM and alterations tailors, as you both suggested. This suit has been altered a good bit to correct some balance and fit issues, but we were working with serious time constraints last time. I do plan to have it further worked by my alterations tailor before I order another suit. In fact, the main reason I've posted these pictures is to get a bit of a "to-do" list to present to both my alterations tailor and the tailors who manufacture my duds for me.
Thanks again to all who have weighed in so far.
