Sometimes Samuel Smith, Samuel Adams (espeically cherry wheat), and Warsteiner there are many others I like just dont keep them around the house. These I try to keep on standby.

I home brew, so some of the beers I have made are my favorites. Like my Enfield ESB. That said, I live in Grand Rapids, MI home to Founders Brewing. They make some awesome beers, like the Founders Breakfast Stout, Black Rye, Dry Hopped IPA, and several that are only available at the brewery. Michigan is Also home to Bell's, makers of Expedition Stout, Two Hearted IPA, etc. Along with New Holland and Arcadia, we have some amazing beers here.

My favourite beers are from Sternquell, a small brewery in Plauen, Saxony.
Unfortunately they are not widly available, even here.
Another one that I highly recommend is Staropramen.

When the snow is off the ground (around July or so?) you should head up to Houghton. Small brewery in town, I believe the name is Kokanee (or something like that, beginning with K). On the main street, just west of the movie theatre. Good beer, and when I was there last summer it was $2.50 a pint!

1809 Berliner Weisse. It's malty and tart. Not nearly as much as Berliner Kindl Weisse which I prefer. The head flattened out rather quickly too. OK- not great. Good with popcorn.

The Berliner Kindle Weisse is sometimes served with these syrups I think a red, a green and a clear one. Here in the US i have only seen that offered once about 20 years ago at the Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel. I got to try one but don't recall much about it.

On my last recent "adventure" to Oregon I was able to narrow down my choice of favorites.....Deschutes Brewery has definitely risen to the top of my list.

I was fortunate in timing my trip with this year's release of their award winning Stout called "The Abyss", it lived up to it's reputation. The downside is I cannot get Deschutes products here where I live on the Gulf Coast so I'll either have to make more frequent trips to Oregon OR have my Son ship me Care packages on a regular basis.

My everyday favorites from Deschutes would be the "Inversion", "Red Chair", and the "Hop Henge"....all EXCELLENT brews. In the meantime I will have to "make do" with my Sam Adams and Terrapin brews here in Lower Alabama.

You should contact the brewery and ask for a list of distributors, there may be some closer than a trip to the northcoast.

If you find yourself in the Southern California area it is worth a visit. Just about everyone I introduce to it makes plans to return or clammers to set a date to go back.

The picture is their "new" location of about 5 years and the white fence encloses their outdoor patio area in front.

They are like a repository for beer, breweries will call them for beers they made but don't have in their library. Sam keeps a library of heavy duty keg beers in the big frig so he can do vintage verticles of notable yearly releases like Bigfoot and some of the Stone Brewing offerings. They also have a large collection in the bottle and can. Plus a good selection of wine. The Mondavi opus on display is neat to see.

Always an interesting draft selection. Good place to bring your favorite beer glass or stein too.

I prefer Guinness but it is too strong for my wife and she has been buying Blue Moon, more than Coors or Bud but less than Guinness or Boddington

As I read your post most of the brands are so strange that I never even heard of them.

I can't say as to why it's Coronitas there, but here in the US and Mexico, Corona is available in the short bottles that are about 8 ounces as opposed to the usual 12 oz. The little Coronas (Coronitas) are often served by the 6 pack in a metal pail that serves as an ice bucket for the little bottles.

Corona is I believe Crown and Coronitas the way to say Little Crown for the little bottles.

Mexico's brews: I prefer Coronas over most of the Export style German Lagers like Becks and St. Pauli Girl. Bohemia is an excellent pilsner, Dos Equis Amber is a Vienna Lager or Oktoberfest style beer and Negro Modelois a dark lager still in the Vienese style and very tasty all of them.
