People just never seem to heed the warnings. Like I said before they knew what they were getting into to start with. That does not mean I am damning them to burn in hell forever or that I have NO PITTY at all. I mean we all know the consiquences that can come if we engage in that type of industry. It's really sad that the fellow who had it did not bother to tell anyone. Yes indeed it is sad these people have to suffer, however it's hard to have extreame pitty or sympathy for a person of that indusrty who knew what they were getting into. So basically, yes I do feel sorry for them, but not whole-heartedly.

With all the child abuse, spouse beatings, and substance abuses.....how can I judge why someone is even in that industry?

We need to CHANGE as a society first.

That is an excellent point. The circumstances of their upbringing plays a big part. Not every person who gets pregnant is fit to be a parent. They just may not, for the reasons above, have what it takes to get the job done. I mean, instilling the morals and lessons that kids need to grow up and be a benefit to society. A lot of these kids can't wait for a chance to get away from their "parents". It's the oldest story in Hollywood. How many hundred young women pour into Hollywood every year looking for their big break? They usually don't choose to get into the porn industry as a performer. I'm sure the majority originally wanted to be movie or television stars, but they took a wrong turn somewhere, got involved with drugs or the wrong element and lost control of their situation.

This is an extremely interesting topic on the whole Porn issue and whether or not to feel pity, and what can I do? Very good points raised by everybody. Do I feel pity for them? Yes. I'm sorry they chose that lifestyle and got in over their head. Are they totally at fault? Some of them perhaps. Others may have "fallen" over the course of a long time. So what can I do as a person? As Jess pointed out, it takes a lot to be heard and most people may not even notice or care.

I truly believe our society as a whole has gone down the tubes over the course of many many years. Morally, as a whole, we have a long way to go to get out of that hole. But action for anything starts small. In your own homes. What can I do? I can refuse to buy and/or view porn to show I'm not part of the demand. I can also raise my children, when I have children that is, to understand right from wrong, good from bad. A lot of homes today don't distill good solid VALUES to our kids as part of our legacy to them. Let the kids understand the importance of family, of religion, of taking responsibilty for one's own actions. If we all do that, little by little, we may be able to reclaim mankind's humanity back. Well, that's my take on it. Hope this wasn't too "cheesy" of an answer

Hmmm, if someone lit a fire, walked into and stood in the fire knowing they'd be burned alive if they didn't get out, I wouldn't have much pity.

If someone was thrown or misguided into the fire and couldn't find their way out would you THEN have pity? Would you be the one to help them find their way or would you stand by and watch them burn?

Dr. J,

The problem with people who have been "saved" is that they sometimes tend to think that they are better than those who have not been ... in their eyes. Which begs the question, are they being true to their purported beliefs?

Matthew Chapter 7:1-12

'Stop judging, that you may not be judged.

For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.

Why do you notice the splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye?

How can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove that splinter from your eye,' while the wooden beam is in your eye?

You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye.

"Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, or a snake when he asks for a fish?

If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him.

"Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets."'

-Funny enough, it's all there in the Bible. Strange that people who call themselves Christians either fail to comprehend or choose to ignore the words of Christ. They are pretty unequivocal. The only human being ever born who was better than the rest of us died for our sins and was resurrected some two thousand years ago. And HE chose to hang out with thieves, tax collectors, prostitutes, and all manner of riff-raff.

I thought we all were the children of God.
