I do not remember if that was a micro or TV. I do know coffee was undear it so my guess is a micro.

Them tins are the most. But you need nothing short a Ajax to wash it outta your head.

I was more a Tres Flores kid. Gentle but strong hold. A nice scent and a nice deco bottle to look at on bathroom sink.

But good ol' Chanty's is definately my all time favorite. With great scent and not too greasy. Just try to keep a few different things handy.

To get my vintage Lionel Barrymore haircut I first start out with an Emery buffing compond (I prefer the Dico brand myself), and then a fine jewlers compound. Then I finish it up with a 3M Perfect-It Polishing Pad, it really brings up the shine! Most of these products can also be picked up at your local Ace Hardware store!

Haircuts

I desperately need a haircut, and I'm going to get one tommarrow. What do I tell the barber so that I could get a good classic look to match my suits? I haven't the feintist what to say. There's a place I usually go in Lewiston that's fantastic and does it all exactly right, but it was closed this weekend and now I'm back in Connecticut with hair that's driving me up the walls, and when ever I get my haircut here, I look like a little boy; like the Beaver.

Just get the sides and back trimmed short, and leave the top long. That will set you up for a ton of vintage styles. Get some pomade and go home and create your own style. Don't trust the "stylists" to style your hair. And if you do, at least ask for the WALLY!

Howzabout this?

The classic Shemp. Just comb it all straight back, and cut to one length at the neck. This leaves the front really long, with short back and sides. Seems it was a popular cut back then.

Taking a picture in with you to show the person cutting your hair seems to be the key I have found. Describing what you want usually gets you about 50% of the way there.

Right now I am off pomade, but have a generic 30s German haircut which I got by taking this picture in to show them, it turned out exactly like the pic.

Exactly. I go to a barbershop on Broadway and 7th here in PDX. Ask for "clippers on #4" for the back and sides and then just cleaned up on the top and front. I really like that look; I arrived at it after years of toying around with the very limited things a short-haired guy can do with his hair. I usually have the front so it casually curls and points up a bit, with a little "ordered messiness" on the very top.

I was using pomade too. I just got some Pashana Bay Rum hair tonic, and I find it does and admirable job of keeping hairs in place. And it smells mighty fine. And it's good for your hair.
