Illegal? There seem to be quite a few, in different designs, even, for sale online.

I use the Duluth Pack version for credit cards and cash. Everything else is in a wallet in a jacket pocket and is rarely ever accessed.

I like money clips, but one needs to be careful about the design on the front. Something too ostentatious can seem juvenile. I'm not a big fan of seals, dollar signs, emblems, carvings, and other weird symbols. A nice pattern, one's initials, perhaps a sentimental piece are preferable.

My Lucky Money Clip

I have carried this for about 35 years, lucky because I haven't lost it. The travel mug carries the Presidential seal of Air Force One.

I tend to carry one in a similar fashion as many gentlemen here, front pocket, bills with an ID & Debit card amidst the bills. Often time "work" necessitates the need for further "documentation" of which I have found a leather business card holder useful. I also will utilize a leather checkbook presenter for all documentation whilst traveling by air. Easy to keep all in one spot (breast pocket) as well as avoiding the dumping of metal items out of my pockets.

I stopped carrying a wallet a few years ago, and have found money clips to be far better. I actually carry two with me at most all times. One with nothing but my most used credit card, driver's licence, insurance card, and DC Metro card (since it has to be pulled out around 4-6 times every day). The other has a backup credit card and debit card along with my cash. The primary 4-card clip is generally in a vest or shirt pocket, the other in whatever bag I happen to be carrying at the time.

When I actually have cash I use a clip from Colibri that an aunt gave me for HS graduation about five years back. Blue enamel swirls, silver, my initials; I always feel like a blue-blood when I pull it out as my college friends fumble for worn billfolds that are in two pieces or held together by duct tape

The card case is by a company called Retro1951. (Found it at a place called Mori's Gifts and Luggage one afternoon while my girlfriend was looking for some Vera Bradley crap.) Carry my license, insurance cards, credit cards in this and stuff an emergency $20 in there if for some reason a place has a minimum purchase for credit cards (Which, btw, violates Visa and MC's policies). Always get compliments and I find it much more convenient/practical than any other kind of wallet I've had...probably because I'm still at the starving college student stage and rarely have cash.

I bought this from a Native American boy near Grand Canyon. Been carrying for about 15 years. About 2 ounces solid brass which nice, I like the weight.
