I apologize for putting this here, but I'm still really new here and so I don't have enough posts for PMs (whatever that magic number is). Anyway, johnnyphi seems to have one Adam Trinity 7 3/8 hat left, and though I can't imagine why it's left, I'd like to buy it if it's still on offer. Would it be possible for one of you nice loungers to direct him to this thread in a PM for me?

I'd do it, but again, I can't yet. I apologize again for putting this here, but I can't think of any more appropriate spot, other than a PM.

Welcome to the FL. Make 15 or 16 posts and you will be able to PM Johnny

I'm a 7 3/8 too and got interested in fedoras at the end of Johnnyphy's reign. Is that the end of the line? No more JohnnyPhy, or is it possible he might have something more stashed away?

Last batch o' hats

You can see the remaining unsold hats at this link:

http://s261.photobucket.com/albums/ii79/johnnyphi/?action=tags&current=Unsold

From what I understand, this is the end of the lot--others can correct me if I'm wrong. John discovered the lot of vintage, never-before-worn fedoras from a Baltimore hat store that had gone out of business and had put everything in storage. I think this is what's left of that cache.

And they are great lids...I'm happy to say I discovered the Lounge just in time to bid on a couple of them, a gray Adam open crown and, just recently, a beige Adam Executive that should be here next week. Both cost a pretty penny, given the bidding from several interested parties, but since they've never been worn, it's like owning a piece of history, not just a hat. Even though I've pretty much shot my bankroll between John's hats and my recent visit to my tax accountant, I'll have to keep an eye out for those Lees.

Check out the Merchants page--there are some useful stickies there. And welcome to the Lounge!

By the way, I neglected to make clear in my note above that I imagine Johnnyphi will have one or two more auctions for the remaining lids.

Actually, meant the Lee Trinity 7 3/8, but I mistyped. Sorry bout that.

Anyway, I'm to understand that it hasn't gone on auction yet? Nice. I'm excited.

Also, why do I need a paypal account to PM?

You need a paypal account to be able to bid.

John doesn't accept other forms of payment. A PayPal account makes payment and shipping quite easy, and it protects both merchant and buyer from fraud. If you don't have an account, go to www.paypal.com and set one up...it's worth creating a verified account for these hats.

merchants thread .. Sunday night .. be prepared to spend A LOT OF MONEY! .. ends Tuesdays
I think you have that backwards. Johnny usually posts new auctions on Tuesday or Wednesday and the auctions end on Sunday evening. The auctions are posted at Johnny's convenience, so they may not happen every week. Once you are considered a fully-fledged member of the Fedora Lounge (more than 15 previous posts) you may make a bid on an open auction. The rules of the auctions are posted here..

Do be ready to spend some money. Many of us are looking forward to these final auctions, so the competition will be fierce. As as side note, I believe that gentlemen should make a bid early in the auction to state their intentions and then increase the bid as necessary. I find it bad form for someone to wait until the final minutes to post their first bid. However, this is just my personal opinion.

ahhh I stand corrected

6) Each auction period will usually be THREE days, and the end time will be posted based on Eastern Standard Time (-3 hours for Pacific Standard Time)

7) New auctions will generally end on Sundays.

Auction end time is generally 9pm Eastern (US) time on Sundays..

Ending times will be clocked by the Fedora Lounge server clock. (And yes, this clock may not match your computer clock, it can be about ten minutes fast.) The auctions end at the time stamp on the final bid.

Wow, some great hats remaining. The Photobucket site had about seven listed as unsold. Has it been updated recently?
The lids won last Sunday (Mar. 8) aren't on the unsold list any longer, so I suspect this is the up-to-date selection of unsold hats.
