So, what shows are you addicted to?

I was just putting this out there for anyone wanting to talk about TV shows. My question is thus: what shows (old or new, whatever) are you addicted to and why?

Guess I'll start. Undoubtedly my favorite TV show of all time is the american sitcom Friends. It's witty, funny and has a genuine storyline. I love Chandler; the lines he pulls are awesome. A lot of people say that I remind them of him (dunno why, although I guess it's because I have an extremely sarcastic sence of humour).

Of course, there's the Simpsons and Family Guy. I love these shows because underneath all the obvious funny stuff, the creators are actually making a point and you have to be quite intelligent to get the full picture when watching it. That's what I love about them.

A new thing that I'm somehow becoming incredibly addicted to is Grey's Anatomy. I first started watching it at the start of it's season this year, and have not been able to stop. I just really really like it. The drama's good, and so is the acting, the script is well written and the characters are quite loveable.

Desperate Housewives. I try not to tell my mates at school about me liking this show because I'd be classified as slightly "gay" but I love it anyway. It's funny at the worst of times and helarious at the best.

This may not count but I also love the weekly comedy show Rove. It's an Australian kind of guest show that intelligently takes the mickey out of the Government and other things (such a celebrities). They get quite well-known guests (last week's were Bill Nighy and Nick Frost and before that they had Russell Brand). I always enjoy this show because it makes me laugh a lot.

So come on, what shows are you addicted to and why?

Burn Notice. Quirky little show about a blacklisted spy trying to clear his name--one hook is that the "triggerhappy maniac buddy" is the guy's ex-girlfriend, and then there's the best friend who by turns helps him then rats him out to the Feds... plus it's got Bruce Campbell, who's almost on the same level of "Made of 100% Pure Awesome" as Chuck Norris and Fred Thompson.

The Equalizer. Another spy show, older, kinda like Burn Notice in reverse for parts--both have a spy and his buddies helping people who need it, but unlike Mike Westen, Robert McCall wants out and the Company doesn't wanna let him. Edward Woodward does a good job putting us inside the tormented soul of a man with a guilty conscience trying to atone for his past sins.

The A-Team and the original Knight Rider: Humor me, I grew up on this stuff.lol Don't even talk to me about the piece-of-trash new knockoff series...

Still looking for DVD box sets on Perry Mason, Columbo, Kojak, The Untouchables and some of the other old legal/PI/detective shows...

Why? I'm fascinated with the mid-1960s through the mid-1970s. It's only nostalgia to a certain degree. I like the music that these shows used; not just the theme songs, but the underscore that accompanies the action. Plus, the women were much better looking back then!

House M.D. -- Just recently discovered reruns on cable and am now devouring the entire series on DVD.

LOST and The Tudors...ditto on the DVD.

We got into the DVD habit with The Sopranos; we don't want to pay for premium cable and are willing to wait a year and watch the entire season with no commercials. Like eating potato chips...can't stop with just one episode. Yum!

Agatha Christie's Poirot: I watch all the time.
Sherlock Holmes: The Jeremy Brett classic. Again I watch all the time
House: Probably one of my favorite new shows.
Monk: Watching the dysfunctional detective can always be fun.
Beverly Hillbillies: Classic "rural" comedy.
Gunsmoke: It's always fun to watch Marshal Dylan protecting Miss Kitty, well Festus argues with Doc over something.
Bonanza: A show with a guy named Hoss. What's not to love?

The real good thing is I really don't watch tv that much. So when I get to see some of the repeats of the classics, it's usually like I'm watching a new episode.

The only sitcom that has held my attention in many years is...Seinfield!
In fact..If I come across an episode that I may have seen many times while channel surfing..I just can't seem to pass it up. Same with reruns of any of the God Father flicks.
