What is your favorite red lipstick brand/shade?

I'd have to say Besame is the best so far for me. Their lipsticks just seem to have the perfect moisture,perfect color and stay on well.

At the moment Im using Kat Von D. in Hellbent. It's a bluish red color and I like it but it does get drying so I make sure to dab a little lip balm first. It's available at Sephora

Can anyone suggest a slightyly orangey red for me? Only a slight orange tinge though. I love Ruby Woo but I smile with it on and my teeth look disgusting as they aren't very white, typical British teeth I'm afraid!

MAC's Fresh Moroccan perhaps? Brick red with gold pearl (Frost) the frosty bits are not very vintage, but it is very flattering.

But maybe best just go to the counter and try some, Ruby Woo is one of the most blue I would say, so you can try VGI, Dubonnet, Chili and others.

Russian Red has replaced Ruby Woo as my favorite red! At first I thought it was a little dark for everyday wear, but now I absolutely love it.

Any tips for this ladies : on pics I think all my red lipsticks look more pinkish red instead of true red. Is there a solution for this?

I will be doing that, I just need suggestions first as I find make up counters mindboggling at times because of the sheer volume of choice! MAC counters seem few and far between outside of London, but luckily I'm moving there in two weeks so I'll be spoiled then

I've tried on Mac Chilli today, not for me, looked too autumny...Then I tried So Chaud, which is ok, but not as extraordinary as I thought it would me. Hmm, maybe I just wasn't going to be made happy by a lipstick today.[huh]

I use Russian Red with Cherry lipliner, I tried Ruby Woo but for some reason it just looked funny on me.

Nothing new here, I am a huge fan of MAC Russian Red for day, and for evening Dubonnet or Viva Glam III. I enjoy the Viva Glam III, it is more of a plum than a red, but definitely worth checking out if you enjoy a dark, vampy, matte lip.

Oh, that is so exciting! I am new to Ottawa, as I start school in May, and know absolutely no one :eusa_doh: We must chat, I'm not sure if we can send private messages yet, or not, but I would love to know where any consignment shops are to find some real gems.

Having just discovered that a MAC shop has opened up in Cambridge (too bad it is only two days until I move to London!) I went in and tried a few lipsticks. I'm now a Russian Red lover :eusa_clap it's definately more flattering for my teeth!

I am using Ruby Woo at the moment, I think I look so old in pics when I wear either MAC's Russian Red or Besame's Besame Red which are/were(?) my favorites.

For a long time I tried to like Lambada 60 by Gosh but I just couldn't. Now it's suddenly become the one I prefer. I don't know if it's just taken me time to get used to seeing myself with brighter red lips or if my shade has changed to flatter it better; fairer.

Lots of lipsticks do that on me. The only one that doesn't is Chili by Mac, which has been mentioned here a few times. This is a terrible photo of me with a friend where I was a liiiittle bit inebriated at a bar

but you can see that my lippie looks very red whereas my friend's is a pinky-red. Lucky girl, the pink-reds look lovely on her but do nothing for me!
