I've always thought those English tweed country walking hats were cool. I finally found one at the thrift shop, and while I still think they're cool, I'm not so sure the coolness factor carries over to me actually wearing one. Does this hat work on me or is it just plain silly?

I hope you don't take this the wrong way...

My father (ex-pat Brit) often wore a hat just like that and I think you need to have...acquired a certain level of character to wear a hat like that :) I believe you have that level of character and the hat looks good on you.

I love Irish walking hats. I've received comments on mine from silly to adorable. I think they work well for us graybeards!

I've had one for years. They are useful hats and I wear mine a lot. Does look good on you. You just need the fly fishing gear now!

My problem with these hats is I don't think of Sean Connery - I think of Inspector Clouseau of the Sûreté...

I have an Irish Walking Hat from Hanna Hats that has been chewed on by dogs and other indignities have been foisted upon it. It is still one of my favorite and most utilitarian hats.

Looks good on you. Wear it with panache.

Does anybody have a walking hat, tweed or otherwise that has the shape of a fedora. I've seen some on the web but no head shots. Borsalino makes some. Head shots would be great.

I don't have one, but they were certainly made in the UK by the well-known (now sadly defunct) firm of G.A.Dunn. To my mind they have the advantage for wearing with a classic double-breasted trench-coat of recalling neither the "film noir" nor the "Inspector Clouseau" look.

I have a Adams Tweed hat I got off of Ebay coming that looks like the one above. Does anyone else have one and what do you think of it.
