This was so difficult, since I spend a lot of time watching old movies! So, I guess this list could change tomorrow, depending on my mood, but I think I've got my top ten down for today (Hmmm, looks like I've got a thing for Cary Grant)

1) Charade
2) Breakfast at Tiffany's
3) The Barefoot Contessa (thanks Hemingway Jones)
4) Casablanca
5) Philidelphia Story
6) Bringing Up Baby
7) North by Northwest
8) His Girl Friday
9) Arsenic and Old Lace
10) Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Citizen Kane
Now Voyager
Gaslight
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane
Adam's Rib
Diabolique (Simone Signore)

I'm surprised to see Detour on some of those lists. It's a good movie, but man is it "B". It was made in 6 days.

My Darling Clemetine was Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp, wasn't it?

Is High Noon the Peck bomberplane movie?

1. Murder, My Sweet
2. Out of the Past
3. Double Indemnity
4. The Thin Man
5. Sunset Blvd
6. Casablanca
7. North by Northwest
8. 12 Angry Men
9. Phantom Lady
10. Thieves' Highway

For a 6 day shoot, Detour has the quintessential elements of film noir that would rarely be matched in some 'A' movies.

My Darling Clementine was the Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp movie - with Ward Bond as his brother and Victor Mature as Doc Holliday.

High Noon has Gary Cooper as the marshal who stands alone against the bad guys. You must be thinking of Twelve O'clock High where Gregory Peck is the bomber commander/squadron leader.

That's the re-make.
My father still uses the old expresssion "are you trying to Gaslight me?" when he thinks he's being given the run-around.

Gunga Din is incredible. I bought it a few months ago. When you watch Gunga Din, you can't help but be reminded of Temple of Doom, and vice versa. It is so awesome. And starring one of my personal favorites, Archibald Leech, AKA Cary Grant. You can't go wrong. Great soundtrack and beautiful shots. Great fun.

And of course, Casablanca, arguably the best movie ever made.:)
