When I came upon the Lounge, and decided to sign up, I thought about a name that would invoke an image of the Golden Era, but that wasn't too obvious. Sam Spade, very cool, too obvious. Mr. Cairo, probably not taken, and I wasn't sure if you could have spaces in the name, hence MisterCairo.

I wonder, can I edit my name without having to re-register???

Orvil Newton was the American cowboy character played by Stuart Whitman in the 1965 film "Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines, or How I Flew from London to Paris in 25 hours 11 minutes". I am a pilot and this is one of my favorite movies. I wanted to use Terry Thomas' character, Sir Percy Ware-Armitage (If you've seen the movie you know why) but the name has too many characters in it.

cool user name and story...

Our family volunteers for the California Pops Orchestra, and for their "Silver Screen Spectacular", they did a piece of music from this film. The conductor edited clips from the film for the 6+ minutes of music to show on the overhead and side large screens at the concerts. It one of his favorite movies too. We've never seen it, except for these clips. Is now on our must-see list.

Parachutage is a French term picked up by the British during the Second World War 1939-45 as a general military term that meant 'parachuting in materials' or related descriptively to the DZ or drop zone where material [ weapons, ammunition, explosives, etc ] would be dropped to the French resistance on pre-selected DZ's hundreds of miles behind German lines. "Putting on a parachutage" was used [ written and spoken ] by British SOE operators as well as SAS troopers and soldats who landed to serve alongside the FFI / Resistance.

I chose it .... because I simply could not think of anything else to use!

I was called DJ by most of the adults in my family growing up and the Hat Man is what all the kids at church call me since Im the only person in my church who wears one. After I came up with it I realized that it sounds like a DJ's name for a club DJ but to late because it is also me email address.
