Pattern swap starts here!!

Though they were a while back, I've seen a few comments in this thread about unsuccessful swaps. I would just like to say that kamikat, tempestbella42 and miss_smith are all a delight to swap with. Their copies were well done and sent very quickly. Anyone who has the opportunity to swap with these ladies won't be dissapointed. Thanks all!!!

You're pretty great yourself! BTW, the paper you used is AWESOME, best I've ever seen for copying patterns. I've graded up the dress bodice and will use the coat skirt for the skirt, but I've run into a serious lack of funds for fabric. That dress is on the top of the to-do list.

There should have been two types of paper in yours and tempestbella42's patterns (I did them at the same time). The first had prescription advertisements on it...that was exam table paper that my mother-in-law gets for me, as she works in a doctor's office. It certainly does the job. But I ran out of that while I was making the copies, so I treated myself to this stuff. It's amazing. Very sturdy and you can layer it three sheets deep and still see through it. Really worth the money, and still way cheaper than tracing paper in the fabric stores.

I think I like the prescription paper better, they are both good. BTW, the tracing medium that I used is sewable. I will usually make my first copy in that, baste it and try it on, then make alterations on muslin, sew and fit again, then keep the muslin copy.

I saw that! That's really smart. Is it just a lightweight sew-in? Like you, I have to grade my vintage patterns so picking up a bolt might be a good idea.

No, it's not sew-in interfacing, but is usually displayed with all the interfacing. I can't remember what it's called off the top of my head. This looks similar.

I love aprons. I have the following from Lutterloh books 1939, 1941 and 1954. The downside is that there are no instructions. The upside is I can copy them in your size.

I have these for swap. I'm mostly looking for button back blouses, dresses with lots of button detail, anything with a peter pan collar and maybe a version of a peasant top. Any sizes are fine.

Not really a swap here, but I didn't know where to post this. If anybody is looking for high waist wide leg pants, Vogue just released some new patterns and there is one that looks almost exactly like the pattern on Decades of Style.

50s pencil skirt

Hi Ladies,

Does anyone have a 1950s pencil skirt pattern (the sexy wiggle kind) that I may borrow? My potential new sewing teacher says this would be an easy pattern to start. I have a 29" waist and a 39" hip. I have searched online and cannot find a pattern to buy in my size.

If you have a wiggle dress pattern you might be able to make one out of that.
