My printer doesn't work so I called Nick at work and told him to print the info at the rubylane site. I've tried for years to find out about that darn pin. Whenever I wear it I get compliments because it's so unusual and well made and I've always wanted to know who made it and why. My original thought was that they gave them out on the movie set to the crew (I was close) but then when the antique dealer told me he didn't think it was a period piece I started thinking that maybe it wasn't. The one thing that I couldn't understand was why anyone would do a repro on it years later because it wasn't a film than was shown very often (Turner Classics every now and then) so there wouldn't be a big demand for it.

You've made my day! I can't believe you could find it with just my description. I didn't think I could find it even if I posted a photo of the pin. And to think - someone donated it to Goodwill. Now I feel like one of those people who find expensive items at yard sales! LOL It's not worth millions like some of those items people find but $400 is a lot to me.

** I just read the rubylane info again and I was not only "close" but I WAS right after all . It WAS given to the cast and crew. Amazing!

Mine's red but I can imagine it was produced with different colored settings. I think I've seen several of the pieces others have posted on here in some of my books. I'm needless to say, very envious! I just don't have the funds, right storage conditions or lifestyle for better vintage pieces right now. I have a few better vintage rhinestone pieces that come out 1-2 times a year. I take good care of them, even if they're already missing stones.

As you can see with the blue earrings, I have poor experience with gluing in stones that have fallen out. Actually my dad glued those in. I'm sure he had the best intentions. They work with some gothic outfits for decadent appeal.

Indian pin

I forgot to post my photo of the Indian head pin. I did a really lousy job with these photos.

The pin disappeared on my red background so I used a black place mat but I obviously moved my hand and they are very blurry.

I also have a copper choker necklace that I think is beautiful.

I personally don't own any vintage jewlery that I know of. But My grandmother passed away last year and I got her old jewelry. It very precious to me. Some pearl strands that are fake pearls, some pins, some necklaces.

All very special.

I am always on the look out at yard sales and thrift stores though!!

You all have such beautiful pieces!!

Ugh! I could klobber myself over my past treatment of vintage jewelry! I had a full chest of my great-grandmother's costume jewelry, ranging from the '20s to the 60's. I was on leave from work, years ago, bored out of my mind and figured to make magnets (yes- the refrigerator kind!) from her earrings! Lesson learned....

Mind? I certainly wouldn't, not a bit. I worked in fine jewelry retail sales and later management for about 15 years. I only left the industry 2 years ago. Despite working with the real deal, my knowledge of vintage is superficial, at best. I'd love it if you post your research.

Each time someone posts information, even a question, it broadens my vintage world. (Spent last night looking at Bakelite/Celluloid items and learning about Fakelite too!)

Oh...just make sure you WIFE doesn't see the posts!
Don't want to ruin the surprise!

Gimme and Squeee is exactly how I felt! I have always loved a chunky sized, single charm. Wore my T&Co heart tag bracelet non stop until everybody and their mother started wearing it too. I still love it though.

I found some info via similar items for sale through antique dealers. One said their piece is marked "Japan". Another claims theirs is by Bartek. According to one blurb, Mr. Bartek supposedly designed for Napier in the 1930's , eventually opened his own company which he ran from CT through the 1950's.

If I discover anything else, I'll be sure to post!

Can't help you out with any info but I also have one with a poodle on it. I do recall seeing them in, I believe, 50's Sears catalogues.
