Art Fawcett VS Hall of Fame

Whippet on its way!

Just got the e-mail I've been eagerly awaiting...an invoice from Vintage Silhouettes on PayPal! Art tells me that my lightweight blue smoke Whippet is on its way...my dogs and I will likely be sitting on the front stoop daily until that package arrives. I'll post pics when it does...

I'll be interested in seeing those pics, JNC. That's a color I'm interested in, but I think it may be a little too blue for what I want. You will love the light felt though.

Ther is no such thing as too blue or too many.

Just got this beauty in the mail. My first work of Art!

During the ordering process, I'd mentioned to Art that I really liked the look of the Jazzman. I'd thought about getting one, but had decided the color wouldn't look good on me and so instead just told Art to make a hat that he thought would look good on me (after providing photo's). When I got the hat today, I was delighted to find that many of the elements I loved about the Jazzman had made it into my custom hat, effectively making a blue-smoke Jazzman (although I'm sure there are some other differences). I'm also reminded favorably of Johnny Depp's oxblood hat from Public Enemies. I really love this hat! -M

You know, I was going to say that it had a bit of that Public Enemies look to it, too. Looks like some fine work. Simple, classic, versatile. Did I mention it's darn nice, too?

Blue Smoke is a gorgeous color, isn't it!

@Not-Bogart - Thanks! Yeah, I'm really loving this hat. I can't wait to get some old-school clothing to mix into my regular wardrobe and wear with this. -M

I've come to believe that if you want to look stylish put a hat on. The hat adds the style to whatever else you're wearing and the rest doesn't matter.

That's a beauty, Mulceber. I really like how the color of your hat changes as the light does and that ribbon is killer. Congratulations!

Granite. 5 3/4 in. crown. 2 5/8 to 2 3/4 in dimensional brim. 1 3/4 in crown ribbon. 1/4 in. brim ribbon in a kind of greenish gray color. Maybe Art can provide that info. Its really a nice contrast that makes the hat go with more stuff

Looks great. You can pull off the tall crown. Since I also have a blue smoke Jazzman, its interesting to see what variations you can put into the same hat. Neat!

Thanks - the crown is 6" open-crowned, the brim is 2.25" and the ribbon is 2"

Wow, gorgeous hat!! Mulcebar, how long did it take between ordering and getting it?

Well I placed the order on June 29th and I received it on August 13th, so 6 weeks, 3 days from ordering to arrival. I'm really thrilled about the reception that this hat has gotten - it's really nice to see people who appreciate it as much as I do. Thanks guys! -M

Granite it darker and greyer than these pics. I have some pretty good ones of The Dingus (the hat in my avatar) further back in this thread somewhere. That's also granite. I think you'll find several granite hats if you search on it.

Granite is, in my opinion, the most versatile gray. It has a brownish undertone that pops out in certain lighting, or against certain other colors.

Fantastic...love that color and that wide ribbon, and the way they work together! I may just have to order a Jazzman next, given how good they look...what a time for California to run out of money--and me a state employee!!!
