Rave 'n' Rant

I would like to start a thread for extreme product reviews - things you have bought or tried that you feel very strongly about. If we keep one product in each reply and the name of the product in the title it should be easy to browse and find something that has been of interest. This is just for extreme reviews - something you hate(d) or can't live without.

Bioderma Sebium 'Al' Intensive Care

I tried this for my acne. It did nothing for my skin plus it made it feel very tight, dry and itchy - might be the perfume. And it's super expensive!

It's the only thing that keeps my lips from cracking and bleeding. It's also about the least expensive lip balm I've seen.

Blistex Complete Moisture

I am a chapstick ADDICT. I must have it on me at all times. I have tried a LOT of chapsticks and this one is a huge surge of moisture. It's just about the only one I've tried that does not leave me feeling like I need more minutes after I put it on. I like the very pleasant yet subtle scent and the SPF 15 is nice too. I <3 this stuff and always have several floating around.

Benefit dr. feelgood

Absolute rubbish product. Does nothing for the complexion, does nothing for anything, really, flakes off, makes makeup go uneven, applied over or under.

Paula's Choice Skin Recovery Moisturizer

I have crazy rosacea and this is the only moisturizer I have found that keeps my skin happy. It is fragrance free, and I can use it in all seasons. Same goes for the entire "Skin Recovery" line. It's a *little* pricey, but worth it as it lasts awhile, and I am not buying various other products to fix rashes, outbreaks or cracking skin.

Black & White Bleach Cream

A lovely way to get rid of the freckles, it is a hydroquinine cream in a tube, so it doesn't dry up and turn brown like the ones in jars do.

Plus, it gives your skin a totally matte finish. It is the only thing I have found that is anything like Pond/s Vanishing Cream (which vanished from the stores in the 80s), as seen in the old Pond's ads.

Plus it comes in very art deco purple packaging!:)

TresEmme Deep Cleanse Shampoo

This stuff gets my hair clean the first time. All the pomade, spray, setting lotion - gone! I love it. Plus it is affordable.

Boots No.7 Soft & Sheer Tinted Moisturizer

This stuff is great. My picky skin likes it, and I love the fact that it has SPF and the tint added in, so if I don't feel like going all-out with my makeup I can throw some powder over this and I don't look like I have rosacea so bad!

It's a shame to hear a bad review of Dr Feelgood - I love it! I don't wear it over or under anything, just alone, and it takes away the shine and softens any redness. I definitely need it in my makeup case.

Proactiv does wonders for my skin. I haven't have a pimple in the 2 years I've been using it. It doesn't eliminate blackheads, but it diminishes them significantly. No other product works so well for me.

Burts Bees pomegranate lip balm

I love this stuff because it keeps my lips soft and doesn't feel like filmy or waxy. And it has a very, very light pink tint to it. I prefer it to lipstick.

I love, love, love Motions foaming setting lotion. I will never go back to Lottabody. Lottabody made my hair stick together like glue even when very dilute and it was dofficult to use, it wouldn't spray as too thick and the comb dipping technique left my vanity covered in drips. The motions stuff is marvellous, its just like a mousse, doesn't dry hard and flaky and, if you wish you can mix some with water in a spray bottle to refresh your hair when pinned between sets.

*product love*

It must not work for dry skin then [huh]

Palmer's Skin Success Eventone Fade Cream

The only thing that has helped lighten my acne scars so far! It's slow going, but I can tell the difference, especially when I'm diligent about applying it twice a day.

I did not have any luck with that product either.

the ONLY non-transfer stay on lipstick I have ever tried is Lip Ink.

I have used it on and off over the years, but it's very drying to me (imagine MORE drying than Mac's Ruby Woo) so I haven't used it in a long time.

MAC Fluidline Eyeliner

I am in love!!! Goes on black (or whatever colour you buy), stays black, application is wonderful and "fluid", doesn't smudge in the corners of my eye throughout the day, STAYS PUT! Once you go MAC you'll never go back ;)
