I admit that I am fascinated with them......(well everything but the price tag) and wonder if they really are just that great...

I had one and sold it on Ebay 6 months later,
i couldn't see that much of a difference really, i couldn't see how the $$ spent was justified by the "not so transforming" outcome,
i will just stick to a good exfoliator twice a week !
I am sure more companies will come out with cheaper ones in the future.....
If i were you, i would save my $$$.

I was intrigued by the Clairsonic after seeing it featured on various beauty blogs, but after reading the reviews on Makeup Alley, decided I was better off without it. I have sensitive skin, and several of the reviewers said that even on the most gentle setting, they still found it rather harsh.

All it is is a minor exfoliating brush, that has quite the price tag. A good exfoliator done manually will be better in the long run for your skins health. If you are looking into better exfoliation save your money for microdermabrasion or a good chemical peel with a pH of around 3.

Neutrogena Rejuvenator

In the most recent Real Simple mag they rated the Clarisonic about equal to the neutrogena rejuvenator. The neutrogena was only $40 too! The other was listed at $150. yikes!

I'll try the cheap one!

I just saw some of those Clairsonics for $8.99 at Tuesday Morning. My skin is sensitive, and disagrees
with even scrubbing with a cloth, so its not for me. You never know what those places will have, I saw it at the South Portland, ME store.

To save the extra money but try the concept you might check out the Pretika. Its the exact same thing except they don't have the array of brush heads that Clairsonic has. I love mine but do have to be careful to not over exfoliate. I can be a bit of a zealot. I believe mine was less than 50.00, so very worth a try.

Really, a Clairsonic for 8.99?? Wow! If it is really one of the them, I would gladly pay you for your time, effort and of course the item if you could grab one for me.

exfoliator

ok here's my "take".
#1 I'm 53. I've got 53 year old skin!
#2 I've not got,really, any real "issues" with my skin other than the fact aht I'm starting to show signs of aging!A few werinkles (commonly reffered to as "crows feet" and "laugh lines"),few brown "dots" (commonly reffered to as "age spots" "liver spots" BTW they have nothing to do with your liver!)
#3 I do not have pimples,blackheads or whiteheads.
#4 I do have a thin mustache & my eyebrows need LANDSCAPING!every so often!
HOWEVER~so no amount of creams,tough scrubbing bubbles or toners are going to replacewhat nature is consuming out of my skin!water,elasticin,estrogen, & good old fashioned Drinking water!
unless you have the largest pores on the planet and the dirtest (manly type) job ever then I would suggest 2 things! #1 Once a month go to your local BEAUTY SCHOOL & let the kids/students do a facial on you!who cares that it takes 4 hours to do it!you block off your day for YOU time!the student receives clock hours for doing the service plus the knowledge that you have to learn in EVERY state for your state boards & you leave feeling refreshed,refined & rejuvinated!for a fraction of the cost & the time it took you (not to mention the interuptions of the kids,cell phone,etc) to achieve the service yourself!
Just me personally, if your thinking of spending $150 on this little machine to take up cabnet space to be sold later at a yard sale or worse yet given to a thrift store (that's a thought too, look in a thrift store if you really want to purchase one) but for me I'd opt for the cost of 1x per month doing something for me!(I used to get acrylic nails for that very reason!I couldn't answer my phone because my hands were 'busy' so off went the phone with a msg that I was "getting fills".Since I am a hairdresser, I can't "go to the Salon"!I work there!)so you have to do something for you! Just a thought!

My eyes may have deceived me but I will call them tomorrow for you. I was there yesterday, pretty sure there were two on a high dusty shelf. I'll let you know.

I'm intrigued by it as well... but not intrigued by the price tag! lol The Pretika brush seems to be a similar, less costly product, and it has gotten many good reviews.

I gave them a call. It was some other beauty contraption, some kind of a facial exercise mask. Sorry to get anyone's hopes up.

The Neutrogena and the Sally I-Skin that someone else posted appear to be the same type product, they come with disposable microdermabrasion pads. I don't think they are actual brushes you can use with your own product.

I picked it up a couple of years ago at Ulta for around $25. I use the steamer every so often (and my husband borrows it to steam hats sometimes). Anyway, I forgot I had the facial brush so I dug it out and used it this morning. I figure I'll use it for a while and see how I like it, and then I can add the Pretika or Clarisonic to my Christmas list.
