The opening scenes of "Housesitter" (1992) Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin - where Martin asks his long-time fiancée to marry him is among the funniest, most unexpected scenes I've experienced.

I love the scene in Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein where the monster sings wearing tails. Kills me every time. Also, anything from Spinal Tap brings me to tears. Great mockumentary.
Ha I love that scene to. My favorite version of Puttin' on the Ritz. I love Mel Brook's films.

And then there's the funniest love scene??, when Jeff Goldblum and Emma Thompson get together in "The Tall Guy" (1989), that makes the fight in Rocky look like dueling with nerf balls.

I love Young Frankenstein...it's chalk full of hilarious moments. :)

One I remember from way back is from The Money Pit. Tom Hanks' character walks over a rug covering a hole in his 2nd story study, and slips right into the hole with the rug tucked in around him. After trying unsuccessfully to wriggle his way out, he laughs himself silly. As uncomfortable a situation it could be, it manages to make me crack up every time. Plus Tom's laugh is contagious. It's hard not to join in. lol

Love the movie "10 Items or Less" Morgan Freeman is hilarious! My favorite scenes in it are of him following an older grocery clerk around the store imitating everything the old guy does. If you haven't seen it, you really should...

My top three:

1. The coffee pouring scene from "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" get me every time.

2. ANY scene from "The Party". THE funniest movie of all time.

3. The welfare office scene from "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie".

John Cleese/A Fish called Wanda

Cleese removing his clothes while speaking in Russian to Jamie Lee Curtis who he's about to bonk when the awfully proper British family come into the apartment.

Similar gag in one of the Marx Bros. movie, where Groucho walks towards the camera and tells the audience, "We have to stay here, but you folks might want to go out to the foyer." He then walks back to the other actors and picks up the dialogue right where he left off.

(Anyone remember which movie it was?)

I didn't realize the html on this had not gone through, but here is the scene, though you already know it:

As funny and smart as ever! It gets my vote for best catfight.

Here is one I've been hooked on again for some time. Short, but hilarious, and it is a vintage shout-out. Mel Brooks always delivers.
