How long can I keep my rollers in until it's bad for my hair?

Yesterday night I set my hair wet with foam rollers and setting lotion, covered it with a scarf and went to sleep. Today has been a really hectic day with unexpected vet visits, christmas shopping, cleaning and what not, so I kept my scarf on because I didn't have any time to take the rollers out. I'm not really feeling doing my hair tonight since I'll go to sleep anyway. I'm not going anywhere tomorrow (just me and the bf), and going to my parents on boxing day for a big dinner with 20 people. Shall I just leave my set in for two more nights or will that ruin my hair/the set [huh] ? I don't really mind having the rollers in, and I don't want to do my hair tomorrow and then wash and reset tomorrow night as well.. Any ideas? I'm thinking it might be profitable for the staying power of the curls, since they usually don't last as long lol

(I couldn't find a proper thread to put this in, but if there is one, please let me know!)

Sorry I don't know the answer. I know some ladies can get a few days out of a set, so perhaps you can take it down tonight or tomorrow and still make it through boxing day?

:eek:fftopic: I hope everything is well with your pet!

I leave pincurls in for several days at a time, when I know the weather is going to be too damp to bother taking my hair down -- I just tie a Rosie-rag around my head and leave it at that. The hair needs a bit more brushing out once I do take it down, but it doesn't appear to be damaged in any way -- I'd think foam rollers would be even gentler.

Depending on how tight they are in you hair is all the really matters. If it isn't hurting your scalp because it is to tight then there really isn't a problem for a day or two. The only thing is that your roller parts that you have will get even more set in and could it could be harder to brush out/get ride of the part lines.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I think I'll just leave them in then, I hope it helps the curl stay a bit longer when I do brush my hair out. I'll report back on how it looks tomorrow ;)
