By the by,
Haggar coined the term "slacks" in the 1940's.

Hate that word.

As do I!

Trousers or pants please.

I apologize for not following the thought process earlier. When I think "Slacks," I am still thinking polyester 1967 Ford brown stretch pants.

I personally see no reason why you couldn't wear braces with trousers that are not part of a suit, unless they were Dockers or something. They'd even work with, say, pleated Bill's Khakis. It'd be best to also wear a sport jacket with them, or sweater, but not necessary. In fact, if you are wearing braces without cover, that's the time to go flashy. Wear some wide silk ones with an unusual design. You'll get "80's retro" comments perhaps, but ho cares?
Feraud hit the main point though. Do what is acceptable for the place where you're working, especially as a new employee. You can add your personality later. :)

(Still hate the term 'slacks')

Now, where to find some...

So two other questions I have then.

1) I have looked a few places and have encountered limited success in finding bracers to put on my nice new trousers. The couple of places I have found them have been rather out of my price ranger ($80 or so). Is ebay an ok place to look or do you have any other suggestions?

2) What color(s)? I have grey, black and taupe/tan trousers so I would guess black at least for a first pair.

Thanks.
