Looks great, D-guy! I especially like the choice of bash. Very classy. As always, beautiful, but how are you going to fit it in your brady-bunch style photo? =P -M

Gabardine....a blend of grey, hint of green, and underlying tones of platinum...

I never thought I`d fall for a center dent only...but that does seem the best choice for this beauty...in fact it seems the only dent it wants to take...amazing - Art`s felts seem to know what suits them best...and melt into their natural dents in your hands

Blue Smoke for trade Complete

Thank you all for your offers. I'm sure the new owner will be posting tons of pics as soon as he gets his hands on it.

Cross posted in the Classifieds
I picked this up on ebay and while it's a great hat I don't think Blue Smoke is the color for me.
If you want higher res pics let me know and I can email them to you

The only thing that I see that's not perfect is 2 very small spots on the crown, one on the left side and one in the center about where finger tips would hit it. These are only noticeable if you go looking for them.
I tried to get a pic but the closest I can zoom my camera doesn't really show anything.
It looks to me like the previous owner hardly wore this hat, the crown hasn't been played with much and the brim is pretty pristine. I wore it for about 2 hours to a doctor's appt.

I'm not really interested in selling this, I'd rather trade for it.
I'm a size 7 1/2.
It's time to play Let's Make a Deal.
What do you have?
PM with questions or offers

here are the specs
Sold to me as a size 7 1/2 and it's pretty close. I measure the sweat at 60.5cm. It's a tad large for me with a little extra room on the sides and I'm an egg shaped long oval according to Art.
DOB 1-08-07 according to the registration certificate
Registration # 0108073
Initials JD on sweat
5 1/2" crown when open
2 3/4" brim
1 1/2" ribbon with a bi-color bow. The outer edges match the main ribbon with a lighter band in the middle.
Original hat box but no Like Hell It's Yours card

And now for the pictures

What colour is the felt, by the way?

It`s a Sand. And for those interested in how the lighter colors stand up (literally:rolleyes: )...here is the Sand, Camel, Mojave on top of each other...

I should have a Fawcett fedora by way of the classifieds arriving in Arkansas soon!

:eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I should have set the bar a little higher but I'm happy to see it going to a distinguished member of the FL family. Now I'm figuring out what VS to replace it with. Steel Trackside I'm thinking...right now.

Art makes this so hard.

Dguy that's yet another stylin' hat! Great to see the colours contrasted against one another like that too.

Besides all these hats being, well, exemplary hats, it's also a joy to sample the work of a master craftsman.

Well gents, it's been a long time coming, but at long last I've joined all you dapper members of the Art Fawcett VS fedora club. I've patiently waited for years, admiring every example of superb workmanship that's appeared on these pages, hoping for the time when I too might ask the esteemed Gentleman to craft a hat for me.

Well, thanks to the recent strength of the Aussie dollar, and my lovely wife who genrously kicked in a third of the cost as an anniversary/Christmas present, I proudly present to you my very own Work of Art:

Art, I can't thank you enough for this superlative fedora! The felt is simply luxurious. The 2.5 inch brim is perfect, and the crown height, bashed, is 4.5 inches, just right for me. The silver mist is a fantastic colour, too!

I'm one VERY happy VS customer!

Benny.... ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! You must be very proud! Art has conjured quintessential Golden Era aesthetics with this one! Wear it in good health! :D
