Thanks - I would like to wear my pocket watch, but it needs a cleaning and the crystal is loose in the case and needs replaced before I wear it again. It is a ca 1900 Elgin railway standard - with quite an interesting history.

The pens are a Shaeffer Levenger "Connoisseur" with a fine nib, and a Parker Centennial with an extra fine nib.

Sheaffer and Parker, huh? Fine selections for writing instruments. Is that the Centennial Duofold you're talking about?

That's my new watch; my latest addition to my collection of pocket-jewellery. Freshly serviced and returned from the watchmaker last week. Now if only I had a three-piece suit to pull it off. I have a couple of two-piecers, but it really looks best with a three-piece...one day, I'll get a waistcoat!!

Worn this afternoon to the California Pops Orchestra's "Big Broadcast of 2010" concert:

Midnight blue gown, of silk chiffon with dyed to match bridal lace and rhinestone studded bodice with fishing line ripple hem, and matching bolero jacket. Found at Saks Fifth Avenue outlet maybe 7 (?) years ago. Bridal shop bead necklace and earrings. I am the CA Pops Liaison with their Los Gatos venue, and their Volunteer jane-of-all-trades.

Oh, yes I got a haircut, with bangs. And a new hair color shade, a slightly darker golden brown that I'm really pleased with.

Thanks KYGent! The music and show was fabulous; three marimba soloists playing Sabre Dance, two vocalists, a salute to Spike Jones with wild sound effects, great tunes, all wrapped up in a live 30s radio show format (think Kraft Music Hall) complete with silly commercials to boot!

It's actually not a dress, but a woollen skirt by Hobbs (my favorite brand, but alas, they only sell in the U.K.) and a cotton cardigan with cotton lace I picked up at DIDI (Dutch brand) in the sales. The buttons are hidden, so it looks like a jumper. I happend to have matching shoes, so there you go. I only have to make sure I don't ruin my white kit gloves...

Thanks guys. I've had it for a while but recently had the arms lengthened so it fits better now!

It's a heavy tweed dated Sept. 1940 from Kaufmann's in Pittsburgh. Oddly enough it has a single short vent in the back and patch pockets on the jacket skirt. More of a casual 'sporting' suit than anything. Cost me $60 a couple years ago.

I like it.

edit: here it is a year ago before I had the arms lengthened.
