Here's mine: an Adam with a spitfire pin, an open road with the ubiquitous route 66 pin and a Knox Westlite with a silver pin, aircraft unknown although it may be an ME109.

1930s St. Christopher Pin w/ Zeppelin, Streamline Train
Not sure which hat this is going on, but I fell in love with the Zepplins and streamliner. Here is the description:
"Offered here is a fantastic St. Christopher pin or badge that features St. Christopher and a child in the center with St. Christopher Be My Guide around the perimeter. That element is set in the middle of a globe with wings on either side. In each of the four corners are the different modes of transportation at the time: airplane, zeppelin, streamlined train, and streamlined automobile. The design on this pin is excellent, and the condition is just as good. There is a small loss of the tin plating, especially on the high spots, but there is no rust or other damage."

Why?
Why did I have to read this thread? All those hundreds of hat pins I've collected, and the dozens more my grandpa left in his drawer when he died are still hanging around. I thought I was safe from pin fever, and that I'd leave all my nice fedoras un-pierced. Now I've already ordered one of Zemke Fan's and I'm thinking of digging out all my old cowboy beaters and seeing what's there. I know I've got a solid gold "horse apples" pin somewhere that's always a conversation starter, and my grandfather sometimes wore a pair of gold 38s on one of his (PG-13 kind, not the firearms). You guys are really a bad influence. Maybe I could just stick them all on a wool beater fedora and look like one of the crazy old men that cook for trail rides. Frank

A couple questions regarding pins...
Is there any style of hat where pins are not really appropriate for?
I have two Snoopy award pins which I am very fond of that I'd like to put on my two Akubras...I would not want to lose them as they are not really replaceable. The Akubras have leather bands and I don't want to punch a hole in the band nor do I want to punch a hole in the felt.
I was wondering if anyone has tried using the tiny very strong rare earth magets like I have seen in other applications. You would glue one magnet to the back of the pin and place a second magnet inside the crown where you want to place the pin and bring them together. The two magnets get into a death grip through the felt and shouldn't come loose.
