There seems to be a musical group that calls themselves Atavist. Therein lies the confusion of definitions.

The term is used in several different ways by varying subsets. For example....http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=41260 Then look at the links at the lower part of the page and it will take you to the my space page....That is just one reason I would not call myself an Atavist...[huh]

Actually, it's pretty obvious that the point was to derail the thread, and that seems to have been accomplished. If this type of discussion was necessary, it should have been posted in the "retro-extremist" thread, where this whole subject has been discussed at length over the past three days.

I propose the name "savant" instead of "atavist" and more precisely, "savant de retro" which translates as scholar of old .. nothing more, nothing less!

Which once again has absolutely 100% nothing to do with this thread.

Metal band Atavist, one person posts. (Im sure after a Google search).

Listing vintage situations, actions etc, everyone else because they actually were keeping in spirit with the thread.

Stop doing this, seriously. Why do you do this? Do you need a blog? Do you need someone to objectify everything you type? Cant you just contribute to the actual vein of a thread without putting a knot in it?
