He does look very young and charming, doesn't he?

A man stands next to Rita Hayworth, suddenly he's better looking.
I stand next to Rita Hayworth and people tell me the delivery entrance is around back. Curios, the bipolar effect of such a beautiful woman! lol

I also got one of the striped shirts and mine definitely had a musty smell. I washed it and it mostly went away. My jeans didn't, though. [huh]
I haven't worn the striped shirt since I washed it,but the pants still had a faint odor coming out of the dryer after the third washing.
I love how the shirt fits, very cute.

I finally got the chance to take pictures of the 15 dollar jeans i talked about.
But I can't figure out how to upload them! I'm really bad when it comes to technology, so if anyone has the patience to explain it to me...

I also ordered a pair of Freddies months ago, and had to sent it back. Not because of smell though, just didn't like the gray. So I exchanged it for blue ones, and it's taking a loooong time!

My friends in Sydney have a vintage repro clothing line and shop called 'Retrospec'd. Everything they have has been made from original patterns from the 40s and 50s. http://retrospecd.com/images/products/jeans.jpg

The have some repro high-waisted 50s jeans. They are wider leg too and have a side zip. Have a look! I noticed them in a store here in Perth that sells cool clothes, so that is great :)

I also have 2 pairs of their double button high waisted 1940s repro pants and i wear them to work all the time. They have online shopping so you can buy them from anywhere in the word ;)

Amaranta - I can't PM you this information as you don't have enough posts yet, so here is how to upload a pic.

Find the file on your computer you want to upload (know if it's on your desktop or which folder it's in, etc.)
Go to a site like photobucket.com, tinypic.com, or flickr.com. (You will have to register for an account at all of these except for tinypic, but it's worth it so that you can find all the photos you've uploaded.)
Follow their directions - usually you hit a button called 'browse', locate the file you want to upload, and click upload.
They will provide you with a URL (aka - "http://www...."), copy this.

Now, back on the Fedora Lounge, when you're typing a response, click the little icon that looks like a mountain with a little sun. Paste the URL for your image into this box and click ok.

They are higher than normal, yes. They are made from a 40s pattern but not extremely high waisted. They are more about the wide leg I guess. I like them though.

I just noticed that the side seam next to the zipper of my Freddie's is pulling out and that the bottom stitching reinforcement of the pocket that covers the zipper is pulling a hole in the fabric.

I got these jeans for Christmas. I've probably worn them less than 15 times, often for only an evening, and only washed them 2 or 3 times. Thoroughly unimpressed with the quality and durability and very, very disappointed.

Anyone else have similar problems? I'm desperately in need of a new pair of jeans and was going to order a 2nd pair of Freddie's, but now I'm not convinced it's worth the dough.

You may have just been unlucky - I hae some of their jeans (classics) and they have proved to be ridiculously hardwearing. Perhaps contact them and see what they say...?

Kitty - I second Smutty's suggestion - contact Freddies. I have three pair and basically it's all I wear since I got them. All are wearing very well (all are black denim).

crwritt - I just washed my black denim Freddie's and they do not smell at all. Have you had any luck with that issue since you posted?

Hi Inky
Thanks for asking. I've washed them 3 times now, and since then they've been folded in the cupboard for a week. I ran up and took a sniff, and there's no discernable aroma. There really was a pondy smell at first.

Kitty I' wear mine 3 times a week (also black denim) and they basically still look new. I would contact Freddie's as well.
