I assume this is US hat sizing so that means I'm a 7 (or 6 7/8 UK).
Darn, I didn't realise that (in time) and answered 7 5/8, when I should have answered 7 3/4 on the US scale.

Now I know who my 7 1/4 competitors are...

That leaves only one decision to make....

Oh I dunno Mario - endless renditions of 'Fernando' would turn anyone into a blithering, quivering, mass of insanity with no idea what a hat is for!

As for the evil mongrel....I must add it to the list for consideration. Thanks.

When I first started buying hats I wore a 7 1/4, but I've gained weight over the past few years. These days I'm better off with a 7 3/8! :eusa_doh:

I need to lose weight so I can wear my 7 1/4s again. :p

Cheers,
Tom

7 1/2 and 1/16th according to Optimo. 7 1/2 XLO can at times be a perfect fit but those finds are rare indeed. A vintage 7 1/2 is a long slow process to stretch the proper size and shape.

I thought I'd bump this thread since it's the more recent size poll and we're always getting new members. ;)

I went with 7 3/4, though I'm really 7 5/8 extra long oval.

I tend to buy 63's in production hats, and have space on the sides.

Wow! that's an amazing looking graph, talk about a perfect curve!

It appears that average sizes are indeed average![huh]

Nice to know there's only a handfull of guys with big heads that I'm competing against ;)

I have a lot of competition at 7 3/8. That is rather annoying, but luckily I can get away with 7 1/4 sometimes, so that gives me a slightly broader range

I'm flying mostly under the radar... Enough wearers to have some trading partners, and few enough that I don't have diehard competition. I love being a 1/8. :D

I'm sure we did this before, but I can't find it. I've searched extensively, and apologize if it's been done recently. If so, point me in the direction and pretend this never happened.

This makes me worried. I want to order a Stetson from America in 7 1/8 because my Akubra Bogart is 57cm. However, I know the panama hat I bought from the same store (same store as the akubra, even though it isn't an akubra itself) is 7 to 7 1/8 in size and doesn't quite fit me!
