What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Even with just one fully working one, you still have a damn good eye for hats, ties, shirts, jackets, and coats, Stefan. I love 'em all. Hope the inflammation is on the mend, my friend.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

A lovely find, Daniele. I can understand why you just couldn't resist buying that one.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Nice shark gill, very attractive shape, and fantastic colour! Great catch.

    Toppers Unite

What work are you undertaking on the three? I can see the first two seem to be missing their ribbons.

What hat are you waiting for today?

Hopefully, it will fit your wife then she'll have the hat-bug. Win-win :)

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Thanks for putting me straight on that one, Timmy. My bad. Apologies to you and the DP Bowler. Love the colour by the way. I wish more brown Bowlers would pop up for sale.

    Toppers Unite

Opera hats / collapsible Top Hats are not comparable to what I was refering to, nor what companies like Lock & Co are looking at for rental. You can't collapse a silk hat.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Some nice looking Stetsons, Timmy. Stetson gave licences in various countries to make their hats including Canada. I think it was Biltmore who had it there. I believe Dorphman Pacific took over Biltmore at some point. The DP looks too soft to be a Derby/Bowler. It seems to me the crown and...

    Toppers Unite

If there's a market for rental Top Hats in the US as there is in the UK, then it sounds like there might be a business opportunity there.

    Toppers Unite

If you lived in Denmark, I'd be glad to rent you one :) It's actually quite a business in the UK. Hatters like Lock & Co buy up Toppers and rent them out at quite a hefty price. I guess there must be hatters in the US who do it, too.

How much would they cost to be sent via USP?

    Toppers Unite

An early 1900s Topper from the renowned French Top Hat maker A. Cassé. Imported and sold at an establishment known as Stockport in Randers, a small town in Jutland, Denmark. The original owner was known for his imports of hats from Stockport, Manchester: Battersby, Christy & Co, J...

This one finally arrived the other day. I couldn't be happier. More to come in the "Toppers Unite" thread.

    Western, anyone?

Love it, Mark. I hope the leather treatment works. If not, the price of a new snakeskin band would definitely be worth spending to keep that Stetson looking as it should.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

I agree with Stefan, Timmy. It's not just the crown height. The brim is very unlike a Bowler, too. Still a nice find, though.
