How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Wow!!! Stunning jacket. That back is just insanely, almost painfully beautiful. JEALOUS!!!!

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Fits exactly as it was designed to fit! It’s shorter by design, so that you can easily wear it zipped and seated (presumably most the day, as an m/c cop). Sleeve is perfect. Wear it with a black t shirt if the length is of concern. In my view it’s doing exactly as it’s supposed to do and looks...

Bates style action back Vs. Aero style shoulder gussets

^This. I will say Aero’s gussets have improved. But the Bates style is better and the Cal style that wraps under the pits is best.

What do you think of this New Flat Head Leather Jacket

This is exactly why I didn't pursue a custom halfbelt. I was worried about this exact thing.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

    Leather jacket painted portrait removal

It is, impressive for sure but I wouldn’t wear it on a bet.

Fox Creek -A Versatile Riding Jacket

I’ve wondered how functional the vents actually are. Before I got soft and feared my bike I thought hard about a perforated Vanson Stars never aligned, daughter came along and that was that so I never did find out how well perforated leather actually “worked’. From your post I’d assume...

    Leather jacket painted portrait removal

Acetone will absolutely remove it. If you strip the art you will strip the finish and have a black jacket with a giant brown skid mark back. You’d have to strip it the entire jacket I suspect and even then, if it’s veg tanned, some of the paint from the art may ghost the stripped back. On the...

    Field Leathers

Agreed! Still a great jacket and it fits you beautifully. This should be a learning moment for Greg though. From what I can tell he is probably the best machinist in the world. A sharper eye for design, layout really would go a long way. But I’m confused as to how such a thing is made when the...

    Field Leathers

Repositioning the chest pocket and changing the main zip angle would fix the pocket set up too. Those pockets are all together misplaced in relation to the angle of the main zip. I’m just surprised this isn’t made apparent before the jacket is cut. And it was a full price custom for the...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I had them in the campus and pulled them out. Super easy to do and you can easily whip stitch the liner closed. Hats put them in his Aero to alleviate the “great shoulder crease panic” of 2021. I only removed them to add a little sleeve length, which doing so accomplished.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Actually for me it's not so much about the patina as the build and details. The collars, the sleeve shape and seam construction. While the patina is certainly eye catching, the sum total of the build is also far more appealing than the modern derivatives.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Vintage Horsehide halfbelt; see also coolest jacket on earth. Perfectly exemplifies why true vintage can't be touched or compared too. There is simply nothing better.

    I'm surprised to hear that.

    Chipie leather jacket

No certainty but from the looks of the label, and the size numeration (XXL) it certainly appears to be a 80's-90's era jacket. European produced stuff is always harder to date. I've seen very few Euro or American jackets from the 60's and 70's that don't use numbers to indicate size. S,M,L,XL...

    Field Leathers

I don’t think it’s related to sizing and it’s also not exclusive to Greg. Aero screwed this one up: But not this one: This, much like chest pocket height, is one of my buttons. I miss a good deal of detail, but not this one. Just like a chest pocket sitting on your shoulder, this placement...

    Field Leathers

I’d send this pic to Greg. I hate to be a dick about it but I’d hope for the same if it were my jacket…those handwarmers just aren’t right! It’s an expensive piece. I expect this stuff from 5 Star but Greg is in a different league. Frankly a league of his own. I just can’t help but feel he...

    Field Leathers

Fit looks great! The handwamer pockets look really off to me though. The right is nearly touching the main zip. Is this due to the chest pocket height? It's weird b/c they look evenly placed next to the side panels....I dunno, maybe I just forgot how cross zips work.

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

In my experience a seller who won't do this is not worth doing business with and likely lying about the size, which will all but guarantee the item gets returned, for any reason the buyer selects from the drop down menu of options. I can't understand why any seller would invite this hassle over...

Vanson Model A or Aero Cafe Racer

Both are so good. It’s a tough choice! For looks, the Aero wins imho. Although that’s not always the case. For me, the older A, which is a little bit longer in the body is actually the absolute winner. Look at the front zipper. The modern ones have very little splay. The older ones (better...
