    Muy bien. You’ve gotten my vote for effort. Pic #3 looks impressively better. Thanks for the update. What does the inside look like? If it’s pounced as nice as the outside some folks have had fortune turning the hat inside out. That requires a lot of work. Just a thought. B

    Careful...careful with the sandpaper. Easy to flatspot and ruin a hat even if you think you are careful especially in a stressed spot, even more so on a vintage crease line. I’d save that for last. Might try a Magic Eraser first, etc. B
