Any modern hat makers who make real Milan and/or Boater hats?

Depending on the size you require, there has always been a good inventory of vintage milan straw and antique boaters (in a wide variety of materials and weaves) on eBay. Any bespoke hat shop should be able to update an older hat body with a new sweatband. The materials available for straw hats...

What Cap Are You Wearing Today?

Bespoke cap and vest, cut from the same piece of vintage Belgian linen and constructed on opposite sides of the earth… the vest in Buffalo, the hat in Australia.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Yesterday. Not sure if this hat has ever been creased but thought it best to give the crown the respect it deserves.

What a great hat, with all the indicators of early manufacture. Recent find?

    Western, anyone?

Send me your address by PM. It is quite stiff, but in very good condition. Brim looks wider than the one you have.

    Western, anyone?

Thanks for the nice comparison to these handsome youngsters. This is an easy western to wear. Thank you. I must enjoy this droolapalooza… keep coming back for more. I do my share of drooling too.

    Western, anyone?

Have one of these too but without the rolled edge. I removed the feathers but never did more with it. Very stiff. I’d be happy to contribute it to your efforts but at 7 1/8, also too small I reckon.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Back when one X was a lot of X... Both this hat and the one posted yesterday have the silver foil store imprint. Most of the marks I've seen imprinted with this foil have been in a similar flaky condition to this one. Apparently the silver material was problematic - it is rarely seen...

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

That's a great hat... sorry it's not in your size. The LOT 8027 is intriguing - not in sequence with other examples and doesn't appear to have the age that would suggest an earlier numbering sequence (as might have been the case for the hat posted by RLK in the early pages of the LOTXXXX...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Thank you Brent. The proportions give it an interesting look - not quite dress or western - somewhere in between. The felt remains moldable to this day - I steamed it and removed the side pinches that I'd worn in the past. Some additional photos I posted when the hat arrived were shared here...

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

I have a couple but have never tried adjusting the fit. It might make sense in one of them which has always been a little too loose.

    Turquoise/Native American jewelry

I'd be hesitant to alter the patina... only because almost every time I do it I wish I hadn't after the fact. Very interesting piece.
