Idle thought.
We see plenty of pictures here of amazing looking jackets, like Thedis or some of the Japanese makers, where we say the jacket has been "washed" or "tumbled" to achieve the wavy, wobbly, broken-in look.
Does anybody know what those processes actually are? I've washed plenty of...
Right. I've been for a lovely ride this afternoon, first time wearing a new riding jacket.
It's a DXR Vinz, which is obviously not a maker of any interest to the retro crew, but the subtle cross zip styling is lovely. CE rated, and in these pictures I've replaced the supplied armour with some...
I'm much the same. Almost everybody makes a nice simple CR and how it fits is the only real distinguisher.
To much research leads to paralysis, and like @MrProper says, dissatisfaction.
No jacket for me at the moment as the UK is experiencing the first full-blown heat wave of the year.
A simple t shirt is absolutely enough.
Infuriating, as I've just finally got a cross zip riding jacket that fits and I love, and I don't want to just use it for riding.
I'm the same, except a number 2 buzz has been my default since 1994 (because I'm old).
I haven't paid for a haircut since then. Goodness knows how much money I've saved (to waste on extravagances).
Tidy Brooks.
I've been watching this on eBay and it's ended unsold the last couple of goes.
Might be a deal to be made?

So my next question is how on earth the 5* sizing works.
I'm currently swooning over the 1930s half belt, which is (I think?) what @ton312 just had, and I'm losing confidence poring over the sizing charts.
I'm a 39 chest and it like a trim fit. What on earth do I want?
By way of whatever, here's a photo I took just now when I got in from a no-reason-but-the-sun's-shining ride.
This is my all season armoured riding jacket, from Merlin in oxblood cow. I bought it in a 40 to give me layering room on my 39" chest measurement. I always used to think I should have...
I'm certain this will have been asked before but my search-fu is weak today.
Has anyone got photos that clearly show the real life difference in appearance between the seal brown and russet brown steer?
